  • Turns out that the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim turned out to be "a Mickey Mouse franchise" ;)

  • Who knew that we would end up in Los Angeles just 2 & a half short years later?1986 was the year my beloved Flames upset a far superior Oilers team on paper.

  • howe, gretzky, and orr

  • Two words - Bobby Orr.

  • greatest of all time.

  • Most UNSELFISH, pass first player EVER...and YET....the GREATEST, MOST PROLIFIC goal scorer of all time.

Guess that's why they call him "The Great One," as in NUMBER 1 of ALL TIME.

  • @felled

There's nothing selfish about shooting or unselfish about passing. Forwards need to score goals in any way possible, that's their job. I wouldn't say Gretzky was a "pass first player", he didn't have a simple mentality like that. What made him great was the fact that he always made correct decisions and knew what was happening on the ice - not just around him but all over the ice. He did shoot the puck a lot too.

  • greatest hockey player evar

  • at 1:39 Gretzky lies!!!!!

  • Pro Stars, WOW that brings back memories when I was a kid. That was byfar my fav. cereal.

  • Never knew he said those things about the Devils.

  • Great quality, was this on BETAMAX? ;p

  • @boundaryzero No. recorded in SP on Mits. SVHS recorder using very high quality tape. Thx for noticing.

  • Beautiful flow

  • i hope those fan club photos were a joke.....

  • He looks like Jeff Spicolli in the photo album.

  • lol NJ Devils won a couple Stanley Cups 10 years later

  • Pro Stars was a good cereal, should of kept the box for memorabilia

  • He said New Jersey was a great hockey CITY?!

  • @lsbouch fucking 30 years ago lol

  • this was very cool, what year would this have been ?

  • @MegaSpazztic Wayne was born in January 1961, so probably 1986.

  • @GregWn It was 1986. I remember this show because I happened to be watching "Live at Five," which was WNBC-TV's (Channel 4 in New York) local 5:00 PM newscast where Marv Albert was interview Gretzky when Dave come in with his crew to interrupt the interview (with Marv asking if his favorite program at 12:30 AM was the "CBS Late Movie?"). Saw that when it happened live and again when it aired on this particular Letterman show that night.

  • Everyone says he played in a league that wasn't as talented...but he also played in a league that they hooked and did all kinds of things they arnt allowed to do now to keep you away from the now...he might of done even beter at a young agw in this league with the ability to not get held on too records may be broken but there will most likely never be a player like wayne ever again

  • my mom went to high school with Wayne, can anyone name which school? I have the pics and junk from the club too, WOW!

  • omg those pictures.... hahahaha

  • I have those pictures signed.

  • WAYNE GRETZKY was hoping to get better as a hockey player?! I quit.

  • Letterman was young?

  • he kinda looks like jeff skinner

  • Pro Stars was an awesome cereal! Used to eat it all the time as a kid.

  • Cool find man thanks for the upload

  • no one will ever break his records...the goalies are much much better and defense men are actually good

  • 8:10 - LOL! Im sure Dave felt like an ass as Wayne didnt even flinch nor give into his dumb little air punches!

  • Holy Smokes.... Gretzky souns sooooo similar to Crosby..... Just close your eyes and listen to him talk to letterman... its crazy.

  • @jlee222ballin Yeah you're right. But gretzky sounds more humble...

  • @jlee222ballin except he sounds a lot smarter than crosby.....

  • Wayne Gretzky dominant

  • 90+ goals in one season, is it going to happen again?

  • @EwaY83 no goalies are good and defense men can skate

  • @EwaY83 Not until Bettman gets his way and makes the nets bigger/goalie pads smaller

  • i say it can if the league cracks down hard with suspensions

  • @statman06 Kindof freaky they show him in a LA uniform and the next thing he is traded to LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 92 goals, 163 assits, 215 points, just jaw dropping!

  • letterman is such a tool

  • The only athletes I can think of that dominated their sports the way Gretzky dominated hockey are Michael Jordan, and Michael Phelps (although he can't match the longevity). Muhammad Ali might have been there too if he hadn't been put in prison during his prime.

  • the most dominant athlete EVER! no one was so much better than the opposition for so long :)

  • @oehieze the greatest ambassador of the game....EVER!!!!
