  • No amount of debate or argument can cure this cancer growing on the rear end of society that is the RIAA. The only cure is bullet.

  • Can I donate a burning sack of shit to the RIAA if I hit the donate button?

  • Filter this, RIAA *raises both middle fingers*

  • Copyrights seldom protect protect the interests of creative individuals. Far more frequently copyrights usurp control from the creators and suppress information that threatens those with power (especially in the U.S.).

  • Censorship is wrong.

  • @UnusedBEAR

    I couldn't agree more

  • Greedy people usually fall hard.

----The record companies and studios want TONS of money.

----The pirates want songs, movies, and software for free.

----How can one choose which side is right?

  • Cary Sherman was wearing good make-up. I can barely see his horns.

  • CARY YOU SAID ILLEGAL While others were being sued the RIAA and FBI ignored the following conversation A NC high ranking police officer was recorded discussing downloading music He named the name Kazaa and talked about how songs were arranged in groups choose & click and get them He said it was the thing to do everybody was doing it He bet his daughters had downloaded a thousand songs on his computer He laughed and said he hoped the federal government did not come in and investigate him.

  • I think artists should earn their living by performing at concerts - not by sitting on their asses, giving most of the money, earned from CD-sales and downloads to recording studios.

  • I think artists should earn their living by performing at concerts - not by sitting on their asses, giving most of the money, earned from CD-sales and downloads to recording studios.

  • I think artists should learn their living by performing at concerts - not by sitting on their asses, giving most of the money, earned from CD-sales and downloads to recording studios.

  • The RIAA IS DESTROYING THE INTERNET

  • fuck you RIAA!

  • Ah I remember those RIAA filters. If a record player was not connected through a RIAA filter, the music sounded sharp and weak, like if heard through a phone hand set with sharp trebly loudness. Are they developing similar stuff in the digital world?

  • There could be a very controversial conversation on this topic... But! To save time. Suck my ass you scrotum lickers.

  • Comment removed

  • this cary sherman cat better hope i dont see him on the street

  • Fuck this piece of shit ruining other peoples lives over a couple of dollars worth of songs. Seriously, someone please assassinate this jackass. These people are charging as much as $80,000 for ONE song and we're considered the pirates?? Lets put this into perspective, steal a $3.00 candy bar and get charged with $240,000!! Yeah, that sounds fair right?! Fuck you RIAA and fuck censorship, you aren't getting shit from me anymore!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) has been credited in publications for being the most wired city in America. So if were truly fighting a war against piracy, then Dallas (DFW) is ground zero on the fight against digital piracy.

    Why DALLAS?

Technology: Telecom Corridor is larger than Silicon Valley. Dallas is wired for the 21 century. The region has the most cel phones per capita and the most cable and fiber optics in the ground than any other major city in America.

  • What if I bought an album that sucks musically I would feel I wasted my money, this has happened with many albums I bought.

Why do you feel the need to charge CDs more than they're worth, face RIAA full of shit, you can't stop it.

  • Cunts. Cunts Cunts

  • I remember back when the RIAA was forced to pay ~20 dollars to every person who had bought a CD because of their price gouging (which they still do).

By the standards set by the RIAA's new lawsuit, a song is worth $80,000.

    lol,

  • Why should their products, not ours, be allowed to abuse our technology? They can sponsor and enhance contents and works on Internet that help their business but forcing everybody into them is completely abusive. Should we carry on those selfish philosophies forever? No! Now is the time to stop it.

  • The solution is INSIDE the MUSIC STORES!

  • we just dont buy and listen music like we use too...consumers are more focus about buying a single than the all album..the superstore should follows...there's no way you can find a 500 gb hard disk in stores and not a single cyber decks in your music store, right now we are just allowed to do it because of the absence of an alternative.

  • its not about internet its about the news habbits of consumers as far as music is concern...

  • as long as the genral equipment store are selling 500 gb 800 gb hard disk drive the music and movie industry will be down......artists dont sell anymore...you can find it for free on the net...the music superstore like virgin shud follow the way of downloads instead of selling cd's...why cudnt we find cyberdecks in stores where you just plug your usb key and download your album...they should find a way to bring the consumers back in the stores..and toput cyber downloading decks isa solution..

  • This is utterly ridiculous...basically proposing to embed spyware into software?

  • Every move the RIAA makes to block sharing is countered by a person who is smart enough to design a work around.. It's just a huge game and they are going to loose as long as they keep doing what they are doing now. So I say let them keep wasting money with DRM, let them keep loosing money from pushing people into file sharing, and let them keep sueing people because there is always someone out there willing to undo all their hard work.. lol

  • Fuck this shit, it makes me mad. How long will the RIAA keep this nonsense up?

  • I don't believe in giving money to the recording industry, I believe in giving money to the artist for certain songs. Long live .75 cent downloads! One day someone will stick a rootkit up the RIAA's butt and block all their communications to the outside world. Can you say, free for all?

  • Wouldn't surprise me if the RIAA assholes were a big contributor to the slumping economy with their greedy selfish asses. I bet the president of the RIAA never leaves his house because he's just as much of a pussy as the rest of the people who work for them. He's one of those guys who would never make a public appearance without 10 bodyguards around him. I hope he gets whats coming to him someday whoever he is. "Let's sue a 10-year-old for downloading free music." Fucking cowards.

  • you bunch of sad bastards...you can all sit there with youre waffle..whatever you do there will be a way round...downloading will still happen....1-get backtrack3 2-crack the wep or wpa2 on wifi point 3-then use another server. try this for now im sure there will be another way soon :):):) keep looking at remote exploit, backtrack also look very close at the russians, they have some good ideas :):):):):):):):):):):):) fuk you riaaaaaaaaaaaa wankers

  • Casey Sherman: "In spite of all these subscription services, all these, you know, legal means of getting music, online piracy persists..."

Did it ever dawn on these lame-brains that maybe people are not utilizing their subscription services because they don't want to provide money to the recording industry cartel?

It's a golden rule of business: When you piss off customers, they stop buying. Filing laughable lawsuits and taking down YouTube videos is not winning them any allies.

  • those motherfuckers may have come to Malaysia and forced their bullshit, but my countrymen sure as hell wouldn't sell us out. That's if the riaa would even dare step foot in my country without shitting themselves.

  • I hope they all die slowly and painfully. Support independent music, Fuck the RIAA!!

  • Why hasn't the governemnt actually done some investigation on these guys? Thier clearly greedy liars.

  • The RIAA is corrupt. Don't believe a word they say.

  • I think bands should get rid of this outdated business, and just give their music for free. Get money from tours and donations. These dinosaurs just make life hell for them.

  • I never bought a Cd in my life,

and I have like 30 songs in my computer,

hey, as long as you do not benefit from

these files, or share them, you are Ok,

downloading them for personal use should

be Ok. Besides I dont wana pay 10 cents on

    iTunes....Blagghh

  • iTunes charges 99 cents per track + tax = $1.07

Real music fans just don't enough money in the world to pay that much for music alone. Its just one of those tactics the RIAA is using to drain everyone of their money. Its just not worth it, there are too many more important things a person can spend his money---like gas, food, & insurance. I would sacrifice $15 for gas instead of buying a iTunes $15 gift card anyday. Their pure greedy & evil at so many levels.

  • same here i used to buy music but none of my current music i bought, and i have over 500 songs ;)

  • LONG LIVE THE PIRATES

  • Fuck The RIAA Thats What I Always Say

  • In the past the people just weren't able to copy - but re-enforcing this restriction in the new technology will only grow hate against RIAA - because they only limit/filter to get control over us. It's a greedy organization that wants to exploit music fans.

  • Um, did someone say they supported legalizing the free downloading of music? Where's that from?

  • You misinterpret my message.

No, I don't support legalizing downloading free music. "Legalizing downloading free music" = required to pay to get song. I was posting this to all the people who think we should pay for the music we download (which is a bunch of nonsince). Trust me, I support free music. I don't support the RIAA & MPAA.

Let me put it this way: if you are a person who believes we should pay to download music, then you are the cause & reason why record sales are so low.

  • @DJBrokenHigh No we are the solution. Yes people should have their rightful ownerships, but the only reason why they put a price on music is just so they can fill their greedy pockets. People can own song titles. People can own lyrics. No one owns actual sounds. Sound is an Art. Art is Beautiful. Art is Forever. ART IS FREE.

  • @DJBrokenHigh I download all the time and there is NO one whom can stop me. Come to my door please I ask them I got something for them bring it on..

  • @DJBrokenHigh I support that.

  • "Recording Industry Association" ...LOL. They protect the people who get the money for the musicians work. In fact he's just a criminal.

  • fuck the riaa!

  • You know, it doesn't surprise that even the RIAA members "pirate" music off the Internet. The only reason why they are doing these lawsuits is because they're too bored & too stupid to realize that technology will always be 5 steps ahead of their politics. What's next huh? Will it be illegal to download jpg, gif, etc. pictures of the Interent? These guys have only made it worst for musicans & composers in getting their money's worth.

  • Hahaha, I love these guys living in their own small world with no clue of whatsoever is going on on the real internet. Software will always be at least 1 step ahead of politics.

That somehow reminds me of police officers talking about injecting weed.

  • yeahhhhhhhhh, the internet rules!

  • Suck my balls Cary Sherman!

  • The RIAA needs to wake up & smell the roses, they are actually HARMING the music industry more than helping it. Take an economics class & you will see for yourself.

  • listen to 58 thru 1-10 "IT WORKS ANONOMOUSLY" there fucking spying on us INVASION OF PRIVACY!!!

  • STOP MAKING SHIT MUSIC!

  • Fuck the RIAA

  • RIAA CAN SUCK MY COCK

  • BTW: Sherman's favourite word seems to be "illegal". Well, what he is planning would be illegal in at least some countries like Germany. Mr. Sherman, people like you who live in glass houses by demanding illegal measures shouldn't throw stones!

  • It is NOT a technological problem but a SOCIAL problem. And organizations like the RIAA ARE the REAL problem, because CDs etc. are too expensive because of the greed of the music industry. As a consequence, poopr people can't afford buying music. That is unfair. So, we need different models of giving artists compensation for their work which allow ALL people to have access to culture.

  • If someone can't afford a 15$ CD they have more problems than worrying about listening to the latest hits. This isn't about the greed of the music industry, the RIAA in particular, it's about the RIAA wanting control over the music. With file sharing artists have a chance to deliver their content without the RIAA in the middle. This allows artists to put their music out there without Cary Sherman filtering it to make sure it suits his agenda.

  • Yes, poor people have more problems than worrying about listening to the latest hits. But they have the same RIGHT as you and me to listen to them. And even more: They have the same RIGHT to listen to works of classical composers like Mozart. In other words: It's a HUMAN RIGHT to partake in culture. But the high costs of CDs etc. make it impossible for them to safeguard this right. And the greed of the music industry is responsible for this because CDs would be much cheaper without their greed.

  • I'm not sure it's a human right to be able to buy CDs for less than 10$ or whatever you feel is cheap enough. But that's besides the point, if it really was about greed the RIAA would have BOUGHT Napster and made BILLIONS of dollars by owning a monopoly on the file sharing industry. They sued Napster instead because they knew if p2p caught on that would mean that they would lose control over what music is released. And Jews like Cary Sherman would not be able to advance their agenda.

  • First of all: Stop insulting Jews! The fact that Sherman is a Jew has NOTHING to do with the problem!

And besides: You don't seem to understand. I am not talking about the human right to buy cheap CDs but about the human right to partake in education and culture. The UN have established these human rights in art. 13.1 and art. 15.1 of the "International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights" in 1966.

  • I'm not insulting Jews, I'm just pointing out that they have an agenda. You're stuck in a Judeo-Marxist train of thought which allows only for only class struggle as cause of conflict. You are completely missing the cultural conflict that has underlain all conflict since the beginning of history. You think that the "he haves" (the RIAA) are exploiting the "have nots." The fact that they are "haves" has nothing to do with it.

  • The nonsense you are uttering here is even more confused than the nonsense Sherman has demanded.

  • Sorry, but the only person here that's confused is you. It's understandable as you've been taught that the only motivation to do anything is greed. This isn't so. Money may pay the bills but it doesn't get you up in the morning.

  • I don't think you know what I have been taught. At least *I* have been taught certain things. ;-)

  • Of course, publishers have the legal right to plant hidden cameras in the local copy shop to guard against book piracy. More illegal RIAA behavior.

  • They say they're are losing billions every year, this simply cannot be taken serious, if people could not download or copy the music this would not lead to their purchase. Artists receive only a few percent of music sales, the argument that they would disappear is futile and the resulting factor being more live music. Business is risk and sometimes fails. Society holds no responsibility to feed a certain group of people.

The time for sharing is here and the times of the plastic gold has ended.

  • I DON'T WANT SPYWARE ON MY PC! PERIOD!

  • RIAA are completely fucking nuts. They even have a plan to shut down the Internet. Whats even more sad is that Congress and our "Government" are behind these assholes every way.

  • Haaaa

  • I think that this Filters does not stop illegal distribution of Music, because people find other ways to copy music.

  • This guy has got a hole in the head, like everybody at RIAA!!!!!

  • Actually they need a hole in their heads.

  • I'l bet that someone will find/create a patch that removes the filter :D

  • Fuck the RIAA.

  • Everybody should start using linux and open-drivers for their devices! These guys are going mad! Fuck'em.

  • Shouldn't give rise to any privacy issues....yeah, right. You're installing spyware on people's computers and you say no privacy issues? Fuck you.

  • Fuck the RIAA!

Although I have to mention the fact that the guy's words are mixed up- this has been edited quite heavily.

  • i have another word for it censorship

  • Cary Sherman = Jew

He is also a member of the advisory board to the Jewish Anti-Defamation League. Don't call me a "hater" for simply stating a fact.

  • I'm calling you "hater" because you think the fact is significant in any way. What the fuck does it matter? Fuck you you racist fuckwit.

  • Of course it matters. Race wouldn't be an issue if it didn't. Racism at its core is tribalism. This Jew, Cary Sherman, is doing what he sees as good for his tribe at the expense of the host tribe.

  • Ok asshole this is how it is: know why some power positions are full of Jews? We study our asses of. Its in our culture. We don't piss and moan or get thugish (like some ethnicities) when things go badly for us. We study and become good at things. You want to beat us? Beat us at that game. Otherwise shut the fuck up.

  • Don't get thuggish? Explain Iraq. Explain your treatment of the people you conquered.

Don't piss and moan? Explain your very behavior in response to what I said. I've known plenty of jews(I live in nyc) and all you people ever do is piss and moan.

The problem with studying is that you have taken over the acedemic institutions. Therefor, one cannot excel in a University without towing the jewish line. Even to learn our own history we'd have to go elsewhere.

  • When I feel like a loser because I can't get anywhere in life, I just blame the Jews.

  • Cary Sherman is a Jew. That is a fact. I'm not blaming anything on anyone.

OH... and I make more money than you do. ;)

  • Looking at your profile, it's obvious you're a racist. Why don't you move to Iran where have a chance of realizing your neo-Nazi fantasies?

  • my last comment was in response to "dirtyboy830"

  • Why don't you move to Israel? You're safe there. There's no need to drink the blood of the goy anymore.

  • FUCK THe riaa FUCK THE riaa FUCK THE riaa

FUCK THe riaa FUCK THE riaa FUCK THE riaa

FUCK THe riaa FUCK THE riaa FUCK THE riaa

  • So is charging 10000% the cost of production fo rthe product.

  • Then don't buy the product, and the market will adjust, but don't steal it. I think your figure of 10000% is is exaggerated. Ever buy food at an airport? A sandwich costs $10, $12 dollars or more. Maybe I should just shoplift it according to the twisted, degenerate logic of many of the posters here.

  • Your analogy - and premise calling it stealing - is flawed.

Copying music, and shoplifting a sandwich - you deprive the shopowner of the sandwhich on top of potentially screwing him out of the chance to male a sale.

That is, in part, why the law looks at the two acts differently.

  • what a load of bull @_@

  • today's music industry produces too much bullshit which cannot be sold, so they lose a lot of money ... but we, the music loving people have to pay for it ? FUCK YOU CARY SHERMAN

  • fuck the RIAA

  • fuckin bullshit... first they start with this then they'll censor you then you'll be in communist china... without any freedom internetwise... this is how it starts... these sick people will die...

  • riaa the greatet assholes of the world!!

    hitler goes to riaa!!!!

buy no music its all the same comeriacl shit

the 80s - 90 are gret today music its shit

  • Ha Ha thats too funny, back in the late 80's early 90's people were saying the same about the 70's and 60's, please most 80's and 90's music sucked balls just as it does now, only a very select few each GEN makes good original music, wich usually doesnt get discovered till the next decade.

  • Support internet freedom.

    Support Ron Paul.

  • They don't pay the artists and now they get totally crazy. They want to trim our basic rights and install spyware on our computers. Someone has to stop them.

  • Why don't you start to do anything instead of saying "Someone has to stop them."?

  • Putting a filter on every single computer is simply not possible. I think this guy doesn't realize that there will always be ways to circumvent such measures. Even if the RIAA forced Microsoft and Apple to put such filters into Windows and OSX, people would either find ways to disable them - or, in the unlikely event that the filter couldn't be disabled, just switch to the Linux distro of their choice.

Why are the people calling the shots always such total retards?

  • god damn gay!

  • Is there an unedited version of this?

  • censorship is no option!

    stop these stupid ideas...

  • Anyone who downloads music they didn't pay for is stealing, pure and simple. I use bittorrent to download software (free, open source) and now I have to bear the collective punishment brought by kids stealing music. It costs a lot of money to produce records.

  • fyi most of the profit from record sales goes to the label, not the artist. artists make the majority of their income from live performances and licensing, and ads/endorsements if they have that much star power

  • makes me laugh when these guys are talking about protecting themselves from copyright violation when not one of them has produced a single track.Fuck them. Let it rot and fester untill music is back to where it should be. In the peoples hands.

  • RIAA=bunch of fucking retards

  • Cant they just go after those that advertise on Torrent sites? no money to be made = what? = asks for donations by customers = wtf?

THis guy is completely off the hook, all that money they spend on fighting piracy could be used better

  • Protect internet freedom.

    Elect Ron Paul.

  • Network filtering will not work and its so easy to get around it. This guy doesn't have a clue, just about every statement he said is violating your rights. The funny thing is that a proper study was done in Canada showing that p2p music downloads are proportional to cd sales, the more you download music the more you buy cd's. Who would buy a cd where you have only heard a single song on it.

  • "Filtering" is going to slow down network speed....fuck that...

  • "what they are doing is not OK", I prefer to get judged by my peers and everyone I know doesn't have a problem with downloading so it is OK.

  • Im guessing he's still pissed because he only broke 39 million this year because of piracy. GET OVER IT! YOU.WILL.NEVER.STOP.ILLEGAL.DOWNLOADS!! Dumbfuck.

  • worthless leeches, sherman is nothing but the head of middlemen worthless scumbags...

    gtfo.

  • nice video editing..

I really like how an entire sentence was spliced together.

  • RIAA = Dinosaurs before extinction

  • Did that guy just say that software and videos games cant be copied and distributed online?! haha! seriously he has no idea....

  • He says they cant be legally copied, while music can be legally copied for persoanl use. Thats what hes saying

  • If we held filtering to the same standards as anyone else we wouldn't have seatbelts (that were designed to cut the driver and passenger in two), we wouldn't have airbags (filled with poisonous nerve gas), we wouldn't buy Ipods (With batteries designed to explode into deathdealing shrapnel).

I also notice he believes encryption is designed *only* to cover illegal activity. So we can safely assume that all RIAA companies will quit using VPN's and encryption, right?

  • Just because you old business model no longer works for you (repurchasing records, 8 tracks, cassettes, CD, Super CD) every time you up the technology eliminated your traditional sales strategy now you cry. No simpathy for stupidity, sorry.

  • Bunch of god damned vampires

  • umm wow.. dude sounds like thought police..

I actually hopes this goes thru so the sheeple can wake up and rebel against it.

Seems like nothing moves people unless their rights are infringed.

  • it seems that he is trying to maintain an outdated business model. Whatever 'solution' that is arrived at it will be circumvented by the consumer. As a consumer myself, with 150Gb+ of music his filters will never block the sneakernet I now use to share files and obtain new stuff.

  • Sooo, yet more DRM and corporate control over what I do with my own personal equipment?

Anyone for a boycott to linux?

  • interesting ....
