  • RIP big fella, a true legend of the turf, great memories

  • can some whon tell me what happend to flatra and River Criegon if that how you spell there name but any please what happend to them both please tell?

  • Francome was due to ride See You There in 85 but was injured in the Arkle, and forced to miss the ride allowing Steve Smith Eccles to establish this famous partnership. He announced his intended retirement that day, but I wonder if it was that Nicky Henderson wanted to offer him a second retainer and Fred Winter would not let him. I reckon Francome would have achieved over 2,500 winners had he been able to ride for both stables, and I think he would have ended up riding Remittance Man.

  • That was matched thirteen years later by Istabraq, the last triple winner of the Champion Hurdle.

  • It looks like SYT's injury travails have started to catch up with him by 87. He trounces the opposition in 85 and 86 but this was much more of a struggle. Doesn't get the credit Istabraq does, but he ought to.

  • Why does the commentator insist on calling the winner 'see you again'

  • See You In Front At The Finish Line would have been a more appropriate name. This chap never seems to get the credit he deserves.

  • One of the legends.
