This music is different from the Japanese version of Dragon Quest 8, they took the original music and had an orchestra make it for the US version. 10 times better in my opinion. I bought the Japanese double disc soundtrack and discovered the music was different, kind of a shame... I can't find the US version's music on the internet to download, I don't want to rip all the music individually from youtube either... Can anyone help?

I just discovered how awesome this game is and I havent even played it yet. What really draws me to it is the music and the animation. I've been a long time Dragon Warrior Monster Fan and not really got around to playing the main series and just seeing clips of this game makes me wish I could play this so bad.

In the original dragon warrior on the nes,i could almost never kill them because they ran away so fast that it was impossible.Once i got my levels up,it became possible but by then i didn't need it.

First fight i encounter,was:1 metal king slime,and 5 liquid metal slimes.

I was so annoyed,because i was looking for gold golems.It was like the game was taunting me.

Naturally:i stayed and killed 1 metal king slime,and 1 liquid metal slime.40k xp for the fight

That's the best thing about the DQ series, so relible. You know what you're getting. FF is such a gamble. Every time a new game comes out half of the fans hate it or something. DQ is drama free.

Everything you relied on in DQ8 is gone in DQ9, Falcon Slash requires MP, Zing works 25% of the time instead of 50% of the time in DQ8, the storyline SUCKS, and the music isn't as memerable like it was in DQ8.....

IX was all about customization and exploring with a slightly less linear setup, which is reflective of western "rpgs." IX isn't necessarily a giant of the series, and it doesn't seem to have been meant to be one. Also, depicting orchestral music on the DS is really not plausible. :P
