1. lower taxes
2. Fewer government programs
And in some cases with the usually popular democratic candidates those 2 goals are not usually possible...

Conservatism and Liberalism economically are basically the same thing. They're about redistribution of wealth and the stifling of productivity and controlling the masses for the sake of the masses. To Reagan's credit, if both sides will take the bus of America over the cliff eventually, Reaganomics used higher octane fuel and inserted power brakes. It didn't change the destination. Granted, a president isn't all powerful (supposedly). You need congress to approve bills.

Government programs regulate business. Business is money centric. Cheney and Bush allowed for massive regulation cuts in business that eventually led to massive government overspending and a worldwide economic crash.

@MyLifeasPhilip Spending is up.... the job market is still in shambles. Nobody was spending during the decline. It's not hard to have an economy start going up when it bottomed out and everybody was saving. The housing market is still in the shits and people aren't buying new homes. We haven't gotten out of the recession until private sector spending is back to where it peaked then we will see our economy truly grow again.

What a crock of shit. These people worship Reagan when he and his protege Bush senior (who bailed out the Savings and Loans criminals) effectively jacked the deficit through the roof. Reagan single-handedly tripled the national debt in his eight years in office to 2.7 trillion - Bush raised it to 4.5 trillion in four years. Reagan slashed social spending while spending like crazy on the military, giving tax breaks to rich people, and corporate subsidies to Wall Street.

The monetary system and business are the very reason this film was made, yet the companies that produced this film are those very profiteers, who seek more money and take away, putting others on the streets.
