The WWE makes money off of their PPV's and ticket sales... they have to pay the tv station to broadcast them. The companies that put out commercials pay the tv stations to run their adds. Trump basically payed a lot more money to get RAW commercial free for one night.
Ok, the wwe doesen't make money off commercials. They need tv stations to broadcast their content, and the revenue is generated from companies paying for commercial time, without the commercials that revenue would be lost , and what are you going to replace it with.
