yo man this an ill documentary for real u did ya thing by uploading this. Im BlackTear and im holding it down for Detroit man n im a rapper too man. I was wondering do you got any docs on Detroit plus man since you into hip hop it'd be cool if you check out wat I got
Is Pugs Atoms and the Typical Cats in this video? They are a real good example of real Chicago HipHop. It just seems like you interviewed a bunch of gang bangers.
Check out wbmzchicago They play all local music you send it they spin it follow them on twitter @wbmzchicago the only station to play all chicago all day! @djvdub goes on live mon-fri from 8-9pm
Deez lames is da reason why Chi-town rappers get no respect...1 of da realest rawest nikkas rappin in Da CH I is Mac D from Humboldt park but dat nikka be too gutta in what he be stressn & into that bangn shit but if u talkn skillz & raw talent Mac D killin nikkas...got sum of his shit on my channel so bend on it & peepit if u think Im lying.
these nikkas on here are not hip hop...where is mc juice and robust typical cats..we are the most hated on city in the world....we dont got time for these lame ass nikkas bo.g jdott...theses are all hood guys tryin to make something happen but it wont...fuk this video....every guy in this video is a gang banger wit fake hood fame..only ur friends listen..thats not chicago hip hop..thats gansta rap in the corner ..yall gay ass thugs need to learn the real meaning to HIP HOP. yall make us look bad
You can purchase the double DVD through Amazon. Search "I Am Hip Hop" under movies and you'll find it. These are brand new factory sealed DVDS. It's just easier to ship through Amazon.
Lets be honest here Chicagoan or not, AWFUL DVD just awful. Cmon anyone here got a head on them. THIS IS CA CA, I saw about three black men, the rest all NIGGERS and some white boy thrown in for dramatic effect!!
"i always new i wanted to do something with music" why dont u do something with yur life and get your G.E.D. This guy in the green shirt at 53 seconds into this vid looks like a retard on stage twitching, eat some food skinny, "gang niggas are angry, 7 out of 10 rappers are gang bangers" 7 out of 10 chicago rappers are dumbasses. this vid sucks balls, failed to portray chicago hip hop, song is dope tho
i am from the chi..... and i like the video, but the fuck near the end saying his clothes and his car and his girls are hip hop is a fuggin tard....thats not hip hop, thats that flashy ass bling bling puff daddy bullshit...hip hop is bout life, and if you banged and can tell a tale of past experiences fine, but we dont need another muh fuggah glorifying gangbangin, and unobtainable wealth....wrong fuckin message
The "fuck at the end" is actually a well respected and talented artist from Chicago.. and what i got from what he was saying is that money, cars, hoes etc. all play a huge roll in hip hop. He said "Hip Hop is a way of Life" meaning it can really be interpreted to anything: gangbanging, drug dealing, skateboarding, smoking weed, or a bunch of retarded clowns dancing on stage.. whatever your daily life consists of, thats hip hop...
@xdon3zx you obviously dont love hip hop enough to have that feeling hes talking about he never said flashy jewlery or said he was glorifying bangin i agree with what you sayin but i also believe you cant completely leave it out if you from chicago its apart of life here. its part of chicago culture and i definitley incorporating that in some form is a must.
wazzzzzzzzzzzzzzz up all you hip hop artist of chicago you niggas are the shit on this documentary of hip hop (i am hip hop) motha fuckas don't know what its all about untill they see this first bad assssssssss documentary of one of the wickedest cities in the motha fuckin country
Id love to see this and expand...I've lived in Chi my entire life, and would love to delve deeper into the local hip-hop community, see what talent we got.
Thing about it is, labels hate to go to Chi Town for some some reason, so the music here is basiclly underground. But then again, chi-town got hella haters, like for real.
I've BEEN doing things for IL State for over 10 years, been featured on the Time Travel, JP Chill Show, Even Six Feet Under, played reggae/hop for years
I'm probably on youtube promoting matlock (who is in ur film)
Fact is, for all the talking I'm not "trying" to do ANYTHING

Man it's Chicago's time in HIP-HOP right now L.A had it's time Cali had its time, Down South had it's time its Chicagos time the only problem wit Chicago is we don put on 4 one another like that like the Chicago Rap heavy weights don't put on or create labels 2 put on other Chicago artiest thats y when i get put on i got the recipe I knw imma put on for Chicago I hope Chicago helps put on 4 me because when Me and the Swagg Boyz make it CHICAGO makes it (Check Me Out Folks)
Yessir. "Walk With Me" parts 1&2 were filmed as part of it & are included on the DVD. I interviewed 130+ cats for the documentary; they aren't all in the preview. I did the best I could & I think the documentary came out pretty tight. I realize that it only represents a small portion of the Chi but there's cats from all sides in there. This is a big city with a HUGE rap scene & no one documentary could ever hope to capture it all. Mad love to ALL the slept on hip hoppers in the Chi! One.
This what im talkin about CHITOWN commin baby..If you a rapper or a singer hit me up subscribe to ma page..i got a lot of shit commin so subscribe get updates and il return the favor
Congratulations Geoff with your soon to be released documentary premiere. I know the hard work that goes into it, even after the production process. Much Success to you filmmaker.
For a Chicago Hip Hop documentary it sure is missing a whole lot of people.

Hip Hop= All the elements of our culture. No one was a b boy, a deejay, a graf writer.
This should be a general movie about Chicago "Urban" entertainers, NEVER Hip Hop no matter how much preaching.
