@sk8life140 thanks, but I think I already figured out what was wrong...Yes, I know the hard drive was broken so I replaced it but it still wasn't working so I looked over the iPod again and found rust on the mother board...so I think the poor iPod is done for it..
@gangstah849 ahh i found that out a little later on, i replaced it and it still doesn't work, actually i took it apart just yesterday and noticed some corrosion on the mother board, that is probably the reason, any other suggestions? I'd love to have it work.....
i know how to fix that, put the ipod into disk mode by holding the menu and center botton, after it shuts down and shows the apple logo then mediately press and hold the play and center botton at the same time and it will go into disk mode plug it into itunes and restire it, if that does not work then throw it at the ground really hard , i did that to my ipod mini when it had that screen and it fixed it O_O
cant hear you speak up next time

It means the Micro Hard Drive is bad. I would buy a Compact Flash card instead of another Micro Drive.

You can get a motherboard for it on eBay for relatively cheap and swap it out. Then install the original parts (screen, hdd, audio jack, etc).

replace your drive thats what happened to mine but i replaced the drive and it started working
i reccomend a flash hard drive because it works as a battery to and lasts long
