This is my favorite historian. He needs to replace Beck at the end of the month. I tried posting this as my other screen name, KenMacMillan but for some unknown reason I've been blocked.
Woods is an accomplished speaker who expertly tailors his presentation to his audience and times. Also, have a listen to the offering of the same 33 ?'s on the Misesmedia site!
If one is going to make a 28 minute commercial for a book, then this should be the way to do it. Interesting, humorous, and he doesn't reveal enough that you wouldn't still want to purchase his work. Nice job, Mr. Woods.
very interesting video: Professor Woods not just opened our mind for reflection about America's taboos and hidden facts, but he's also a guy with a good sense of humor;
LVM fellows have a secret I recently discovered. The only way to cope with this insane asylum is through the use of humor. I think my discovery may have added 10 years to my life.
Now I just need to move far away from targeted locations - if you know what I mean. San Diego will soon not be a healthy place to be unless you aspire to be a giant tomato or cockroach.
The depression ended in 1946, when all of the government interference in the economy was sharply reduced. We had an end to rationing, to the War Production Board, and so on.
@mrzack888 FDR died so the government stopped spending so much, then the war ended and everyone came back and went to work. That ended the depression, your welcome:)
Can't u understand an argument? Despite of foreign aid thay (Americans) stopped some stupid goverment programs and cut some spending which let them move foreward.
But eventually foreign (Bretton Woods - dolar demand) aid corrupted their government to the bone just like 3rd world tyrans. And here we are ;-D
@mrzack888 WWII came to an end effectively in 1945,the Great Depression of 1929 effectively ended in the mid to late 40's,hmmm,think my friend and with that i also ask you to look into the depression of 1920,it was by far worse than the Great Depression, but it only lasted for 1 year, look for yourself
@mrzack888 The source you were given is fantastic. Anything from the Mises Institute is, but I think a lot of economists will agree with my oversimplification that taxes were cut and spending was cut dramatically. War NEVER helps an economy. In fact, I just left my macroeconomics class where I made that point. Youtube or search mises.org for "The broken window fallacy" for more info.
O wow I just watched this on the Mises website about an hour before you posted it on youtube! Did you see the video "My Anarchist Anthology"? That's an interesting one; nice summary of some popular academic arguments for/against minarchism/anarchism.

My public school didn't even teach any legitimate lessons about Hitler or Stalin.
Nobody should know how people are lead to believe things falsely, that's not important or anything.

This guy's talking about a lot of stuff I never heard before. Therefore, as I learned in school, he must be guilty of hate speech. Racist too.

When you finally hear true common sense for once you suddenly realize just how perverse our propaganda has become.

Common sense is so uncommon these days it should be classed as a super power.

Second Woods presentation I watched today that has but one flaw: it's too short.

This reminds me of Korea.
"We invented kendo, bushido, judo, sumo, katanas, ninjas, tea and flower ceremonies, kimonos, origamis, kabuki, sake..." et cetera et cetera.
They too lie numerous times with an intent to turn them into truths.

The problem is that he's ABSOLUTELY DESTROY moron politicians and the TV propagandists would be even less willing to let him on the air.
That said, I would absolutely vote for him.
