  • it kind of sounds liverpudlian

  • why does everyone outside england think britain is just england kinda annoying : /

  • C I think you are trying to say couch. This should be said as if you hurt yourself like OW i.e. COWCH. Also Dog is pronounced with a short o as in fog or bog,

  • @indigodingobongo You say ''Baff'' if you live in Bath too.

  • your pretty good at doing a posh english accent apart from zebra :L

  • here's one to try in English its soccer in american its sssssooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrcccccccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr/

And what's the difference between football and rugby ......one of them you pick the ball up and throw it.

  • you sound quite australian at times

  • by the way when u say unbrella its umbrellar the r is a silent letter so and yes i am british as they say you can never learn the british accent unless you take it from a proper isle of wighter look it up on wikepedia

  • OMG. I AM HAVING TROUBLE SAYING PETER IN BRITISH, BECAUSE AT MY SCHOOL THERE DOING THE NARNIA PLAY AND I WANT TO TRYO OUT FOR SUSAN ANYWAYS AND I CANT SAY PETER, WHEN I HEAR DU SAY PETER I YELLE DOUT PETER., ANYWAYS.....GOOD JOB U DO SOUND ENGLISH/BRITISGH.

  • I think it's really good! Sounds authentic.~ -3 Much love from England. c:

  • It's actually really good! I especially thought your Tony was excellent. You're better than most Americans! The only thing I'd say to work on is your zebra. It's not zee-bra (with a long e) but zeh-bra (like the very very first bit of air, the eh before the rr.). ZEH. BRA. Great job though!!! love from England xx

  • keep on speaking american, i mean, who likes the english accent... even worse than the country's weather... :-))

  • the manchester accent is the best english accent. no biasty whatsoever.

  • as an englishman, that is really good!!!

my ears pricked up when you said vodka! lol!

  • Apparently, it's a striped ZEB-RA.

    Psh.

    PSHHHHHH.

    zebra=long e, fools. O<

  • Wow Very good Im english myself and that was a welsh acsent

  • im from america, and that sounds pretty good! haha, but idk what the english think

  • Sounded slightly Aussie or south African

  • hey, im portuguese but currently living in england, i can hekp you out if you want to, i have a british accent though.. so if you need help, just tell me something, cheers

  • Sounds South African or Australian in parts.

  • you sound like the supernanny! love it!!

  • I don't agree with you, I thought your accent was very good. Most Americans overdo the British accent. You kept it subtle and very true.

  • you suck

  • Spot on accent but just a little strange in places. Very good otherwise.

Theres something strange sounding about hearing americans speak english/british, scottish, irish accent. But then again if we did an american accent (no matter what region, usually we sound redneck when we try) it would sound good but slighly strange.

  • ffs dont dis english accents!!!

  • it's apple, not ah-pull

  • oh andit's zeh-bruh, not zee-bruh

  • Most the words are spot on, except for zebra. In england Z is pronounced as zed. So zebra would sound like zedbra.

  • In England we pronounce zebra; zeb-ra, not zedbra or zee-bra like you do in america.

  • We spell neighbour and Americans spell it as neighbor.....To name a few...

  • what was "C"? Catch? Yea that one was wrong but the rest was quite good - except you have the accent of an american actress trying to speak english, makes me laugh, but not bad at all

  • You sound british when you talk the alphabet.

  • well i would say i have a typical english accent.. but thats just cause i come from cambridge :P

    xx

  • It's best not to have the idea that anyone with that - ish, accent is posh, or a traditional english accent as it is not.

    Just no.

  • good i like it

  • im english and that sounded pretty good so far :) you sound better than most english people lol

  • in english and we dont say zebra the way you say it you say your zs in a funny way to us

  • catch was pathetic. ur american accents really nice.

  • 'like most americans you like' food. sorry but yo ucannot do it

  • UHOH!!!!

    we dont say zeebra

    we say zedbra!!

i could see you were struggling but its alright so far x

  • thts weirddddd hahaha at skool we make fun of english ppl how they say mom they say mum or mummy, mummy is a dead body wrappped in toilet paper ahahaha

man i luv english ppl and how they sound halirious

  • That's terrible.

Im british, and you said 'catch' like a complete fucking retard

    Please, you're embarassing yourself.

  • im english n it sounded grate

  • your accent is cute keep it.

  • think u did it pretty well...

    although i prefer american accent,

i wish i could imitate brits like u at least xD!

  • apple, bath, catch, zebra were wrong but the rest were spot on. The way you said 'bath' is actually right in the south, but not the north, we have a short 'a' sound. But even southerners don't say 'caatch'. But I thought you were very good, although I don't understand what American would think you're British from your normal speaking voice!

  • It sounds Austrailian!! We are not posh n don't say baaaatthh we say baff or with a short 'a' and zebra isnt zeeeeeebra its like zebbra short 'e'!!!

  • You say "baff" if you're living in a council house claiming benefits.

  • rofl

yeah its just bath, but with a shorterish a sound

  • LOL , yes indeed...i need a baff..JOKES!

  • 'mother, no, Octopuss...' LMAO (not at the pronunciation - it was good for an amercian!)

  • lol u dont need any help with that i think it was pretty good lol well done

  • Hehe I love the Exeter/american cross accent. Why does everyone think that english people speak like the people from exeter? It's a small part in london XD

  • hahaha you sound australian in most of it hahaha

  • Not too bad. But you have to remember not every 'a' has the same sound.

I assume you said Rancher, but it sounded like Rauncher.

  • abosulutly crap i no portugese that speak better english try saying how now brown cow in english

  • if i knew how to post a video i would do it with all the accents, cos i am a brit.you did pretty well, but i don't see why everyone thinks we have posh accents and say our a's like aaa's haha.

  • thanks mate kl

  • Catch and zebra are wrong, the rest are ok

  • why do Americans (girls in particular) talk like their voice about to break. seriously. its like the movie "the grudge"

  • some is right

  • Rather good..

  • Me and Liv are english. And personally I think that this is pretty good. So many Americans try to impersonate English and British accents. Most of them suck. The fact is: There are so many different ones. So well done for trying! =] Come and check out our video's and stuff..

    - Ali x =]

  • pretty good! "catch" was kinda wierd- and it's zeb-ra not zee-bra ('cause we say "zed" for "z" not "zee")

  • i sound nuffin like dat and americans dunt no our accent

  • that wasnt too bad you know, ive heard alot worse.we say zed not zee though.roger was another one,but all in all pretty good.keep at it.

  • Your right, your not good.

  • i think your the first american who actually could pass it off as english!! Well done most Americans attempting an English accent just fail

  • sounded australian

  • yh, tht ws very good, except, on zebra you say it , zeebra when it actually zEbra, its a quite harsh sounding e.

  • the only word that went totally wrong was "catch" the a needs to be pronounced as in "damn"

    other than that good job!

  • I'm english but i dnt sound at all like that, i sound part american coz i am part american. but i don't think that sounded english, it sounded more poser, i no all americans think we r posh but we're not

  • that sounded quite good actually. except for when you said zebra. we pronounce it zeb-ra and not zee-bra. you even look english, i'd say...idk how 0_o lol.

  • your pretty good to be honest loads of american people try to do it and just fail really badly but that was pretty good apart from zebra at the end we dont pronounce it like that.

  • i like you! , i would totally kiss you with a love strong embrasse!

  • everything except Zebra, it's pronounced like ZeB-ra insted of Zee-Bra

  • You sounded like an English lass to me. Except on "Zebra." On that word only you sounded like an Australian. But there`s nothing wrong with sounding Australian.

  • u said catch way, way wrong and the same with zebra

  • why do americans love english accent so much mate??

  • that was quite good actually!

    lol

but try and make it less posh

most english people find it offensive =P

    lmaoo

but yeah, the best one ive heard tbh =D x

  • you did Okay On some of them But like lemon and zebra u said wrong and some others But your pretty good at it ..x

  • zeebra lol

im english btw..and i dont sound that posh... dont speak cockney tho lol

  • we dont sound that posh :P but that was really good although we say "zeebra" as "zebra"

  • i think its funny that you guys say it how we spell it in america. and we say the "e" as a long sound if that makes any sense at all.

zebra(spelled like this in america) pronounced as: zeebra

  • good job! just try to say zebra and not zeebra. u sound like your a posh girl from london. good job! at times u sounded a bit australian. lol. keep practising. i wud know con im from englan.

  • yeah I agree it's not too bad but you sounded a bit like my aussie friend. But it wasn't too bad really.

  • you sounded more australian tbh

  • you're really cute. gorgeous eyes

  • we say or most of us say zebra like Zedbra instead of Zeebra

other than that it was okish.. sugar was spot on though

  • Silent d in Zedbra though

  • English sounds more like seb-ra.

  • A - too long, C - couldn't understand the word sounded like(cotch)... L - you said 'in' at the end of the word, it's 'em' is more like it.. U - just sounded wrong all together...; and z (zee) is pronounced in England as 'zed' so it's zedbra... good though

  • Ok i am english but live in the US i am perfect at both ( i have a goood ear) i have lived in the US for 9 years and have a perfect NJ accent... you messed up A...C...L...U...and z

  • I wish i could hear my own accent! then we could see if its similar, im english, british could be welsh, irish, scottish or english btw!

  • Hey I'm English & i Thought It Was A Good Attempt! I'm Glad You Didn't Use The 'Posh English' Accent Lol - Keep Up The Good Work :) x

  • Well overall it was good but in conversation you wouldn't fool any of us. you do sound a little stuck up and not cockney. try catch like caah tch and not cotch LOL of course we say zeb ra. oh you said have I thought you said herb.

  • Im english and that was excellent. you're really pretty too :) Most americans try and go all posh which is really obviously fake to us, cuz hardly anyone speaks like that, but if i didn't know you were american, i would def think you were english.

  • It was good but instead of Zeeebra you need to say Zebra, i'll do a response for you!

  • pretty good actually! Sounds quite australian though. keep it up

  • abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

  • you said keely and zebra wrong, you say zeeebra, its without as much 'e'

  • Im British Ryt .. But We Dont All Speak Dead Posh .. Coz To Me You Sound Like Middle Class or Sumthiin ike That. But It Was Good Anyway :)

  • I thought it was a really good attempt! keep practising! :-D

  • Your english accents good!

More like a sotherners like a cockney from london!

You need to say Zeb-ra/zebra Not Zeh-bra

We dont use the Zeh its just Zeb normally although the odd person may say Zeh-Bra

  • Thanks, yea. I'll work on that. Heh, but I'm not sure why I'd need this skill, hehe!

  • you do not sound british accent at all

  • That was a good attemp :)

It went funny on catch and I don't say zebra like that - but I think it's just that where I live we say it like zeb-ra not zee-bra if you get what I mean?

    But it was good :)

  • Oops, Yea, it should have been more like zeh-bra, right?

  • what was the word for 'C?'

  • It was...catch. I'm sure I said it funny, heh!

  • Oh right thanks! sorry! i thought it was well good mostly, but roger would be a sharper 'O' sound normally :)

  • Okay, cool, thanks :D

  • It was good! & your eyes are so gorgeous x

  • Can't help you with the accent. Just wanted to say you have gorgeous eyes.

  • Yeah It Was Good Sounds Genuine

  • I would greatly appreicate your views and if you could you try and help me out, that'd be wonderful! :)

Yes, if you do video respond back, could you try doing an American accent and then using a Canadian accent.. maybe then i'll be able to figure it out, hopefully! :)

  • Sezzera, there isn't just one Canadian or one American accent. You would have a hard time distinguishing where most people from western North America are from. Easier in the east where it would be hard not to tell the difference between a Southern accent and a NY accent for example or someone from Newfoundland.

  • Ohh.. and I totally forgot to speak about the accents.

Could you help me understand the main differences between American and Canadian accents?

Obviously, English-Canadian and the standard American accent seem very similar..

All I know is that there are a few differences one being, the words "out" pronounced "ooo-t" in a Canadian accent.

-Whether there are a list of words showing the difference between both accents.. I'd love to know!

  • Actually, the western provinces and central of Canada pronounce things just the same as the typical American accent. We say 'out and about,' rather than the stereotypical 'oot and aboot.' We pronounce our ou's like 'ow' as in 'ow I just hurt myself'....get it?? Just like the Americans. However, far east they pronounce things differently. With sort of a European accent. They would say 'ooot and aboot or oat and aboat.'

That's all just wanted to clear that up.

  • Excellent points. In western Canada we don't try to be British like some folks in the east do. Too bad so much of our media is dictated by those losers. Your accent is determined by your surroundings so one shouldn't assume everyone in any nation will sound the same. Especially in huge nations such as America and Canada.

  • What eastern part of Canada are you refering to? I'm in New Brunswick and i doubt people get out of bed and do series of diction exercises to perfect a British accent. Most people do, however, speak french and english fluently. I don't seem to grasp what you mean that we try to be British...

  • I don't mean you try to speak with a British accent but there definitely seems to be a significant number that use British phrases, spelling, etc. which seems totally out of place in North America. Same with the pronunciation of certain words.

  • Ohh wow! Such a super effort, very well done m'dear!

:) I shall leave a video message, let me do one and then load it up for you.
