well....it depends on your view of it, but you can't blame summer for getting mad at tom.

from the beginning you know she's a very independent character, and she doesn't like it when other people do things for her.

if anything that's something to give her credit for, she's not some dependent bitch that can't do shit for herself.

If a man punches a guy that's bothering me... I'd swoon, not hoe about and be mad at him. The character, Summer, really, REALLY, makes me mad. But I love this movie. I'm so emotionally attached. You're free to love or hate any character, and you just root for the protagonist. You want him to be happy. This movie was very well done.

... If Joseph Gordon-Levitt punched a guy bothering me... he'd be in grave and immediate danger. O ;

I love how it showed him getting up and punching back, rarely do movies understand that showing what would really happen instead of a dramatization is how you can truly effect people. In any other movie it would just end with him punching him and Zooey asking what he was doing.
