Unless u all haven't noticed, they still have thunder road, but it doesn't go backwards, they rebuilt the whole thing with new wood, i just went there in july, best park ever!

@Madmatt157v2 Backwards wasn't supposed to be there, that's why they turned it around. When I worked at T-Road for the year, there has been no intention of tearing it down. Needs just as much maintenance as any other ride in the park.

I can't understand why Carowinds painted all their coasters in awesome colors, yet left this one brown ugly wood. I think it looked better when it was painted white. It stood out more and looked bigger in that color.

Both trains go forward because the ride was never built with the intention of going backwards, and the ride inspectors made Carowinds fix it. If you want to get technical, the Carousel is the oldest ride in the park-- it was built in 1923. The oldest coaster is Goldrusher, but it was completely knocked down and rebuilt at one point.

The one that was going backwards was to add a bit of a thrill becuase you have so many hills and you don't know how deep they go so it adds to the scariness and not to mention it was awesome. I went backwards before they took it away and put it frontwards so now the two sides race each other. I think because Thunderoad is so old that they needed it to be safe and not to mention they do change it around quite a bit so it might be backwards again soon.
