this is wonderful! You are a very talented percussionist! I'm just now working on improving my four-mallet technique, and my high school prefers Burton's grip. Hopefully someday I can be as good aas you! Keep up the good work!
probably just the angle, but the sharps and flats on the marimba dont look like their raised... but anyway good playing. sort of surprising that u are using the burton's grip on marimba tho but then again if it sounds good, doesnt really matter.
Towards the bottom of the screen or the low end of the marimba you can see a few of the accidental keys overlapping showing that they are above the natural keys but yeah it does give an impression of 2-D marimba lol.
Clair Omar Musser designed and built mallet insturments as well as created his own grip to hold 4 mallets. i have never seen his grip used beucase it has been replaced by the 'modified-musser-grip' more commonly know as the stevens grip. and the player here is using traditional grip though
the instrument is a marimba an etude is a type of song Musser is a composer and there is a grip or way of holding the mallets named after the composer.
awesome man..thanks

I believe this piece was intended to have a heavier/louder sound, so i like the mallet choice.

nice, those musser etudes are difficult. Do you use Musser grip?
slumsquirrel21 4 years ago
