From a common point of view, people won't get the picture right for the first time. They need some explanation. You may have seen what a know-how does right after jumping from a reasonable height. He won't stand still. He will roll on one side, not for a stylish finish or showbiz, but for a safe landing. And when it's a demo, you've to take care of the attacker too. Imagine what a little more firm grip and a fierce force will do. I'm interested in Aikido and this demo is good.

Just because Aikido never been in MMA, UFC or any sports competition,people assumed that Aikido is not practical but so does traditional japanese Jiujitsu.This art never been tested before until it came to the western world.When they modified it a bit, put some changes & tested it in sport compettition, it became 1 of the best 1 to 1 self defence i.e BJJ but it have lost the prime objective of learning martial art.Ueshiba Morehei(founder of Aikido) have a sense of this before he died.

Dont you see the art, the circles, the dancing? It is a beautiful martial ART. If you can understand it and feel it, of course you can use it to self defense, and belive me, those who dont know how to fall will not get up easy.

Its an aikido show, it doesn't really show aikido though. It is designed to impress and not to really demonstarate.

I know this is just a demonstration but can aikido really work like that on the street? Or is it just for art? It appears that the damage to multiple opponents is with almost no effort is impossible.

i personally have seen striking martial artists attack aikido black belts and land on their heads lol. ive tried to attack my sensei and other high ranking members randomly and planned numerous times and they always seem to know exactly what is comming.. or atleast what to do its is reallly fun! but pkcip you are supposed to throw your attackers into their friends so as to tie them up so they cant advance on you ... it buys you time

trust me if u get attacked by several people at once and you can throw or disable one or two of them quick the rest usually dont want any part of that.... it breaks their moral lololol not that you have much if you are attacking people on the street. ive done this in real street situations and it saved me

at every video with aikido demo's cocksuckers are commenting that this art is shit comparative to kick-box or something wich doesn't have a history .. or.. is not art to kick.. i think the martial arts are called arts because the man using aikido tehnique doesn't kick ,, he uses lots of  combinations of moves to defend himself and put the enemy to the ground "cutting" his possibilities to atack again . soryy please my english if it has esue's

Aikido is neither based on winning. You win if you manage avoiding the fight.

any video with 'programmed presentations' is pure showbiz, a demonstration must not be of moves the oponenet expects, must be unexpected or the video will demonstrate nothing
