FFVI Rom Hack: Emperor Gestahl

Gestahl should be where old Empire was, searching for remnants or maybe in Kefka's tower somewhere, trying to get out (quite possible, if he survived, he was the first victim of Kefka on flying continent and when the Tower was forming, he should be right at the place)

@Grovajl That doesn't really make sense seeing as Kefka kicked him off the floating continent when he died, right?

@Zeemis If he died it does not make sense, but if he survived he should be in or very close to Kefka's tower, because as he fell down, Kefka ruined the world few minutes after that so I assume the Tower of Kefka was formed in the place where floating continent was at that time. If I was Gestahl and survived the magic attack and the fall (grabbed onto the continent's side or something like that) I would definitely try to gather army around me to get revenge

@rm4517 This video is of my hack I made. Gestahl isn't a boss in FFVI. Once you actually download this, you'll notice an "srm" file. That's the save that's required to play this rom hack and it contains 4 or so of all the items in the game.

@Zeemis hey zeemis i have a question (i dont know why i never asked this) are your hacks like Eve of darkness where you HAVE to load a save file to play or if i start a new game ill be able to play normally, beat the game, then challenge the super boss?

@MugenHeadNinja Most of my rom hacks (if not all) require the use of a save. I most of the time have to replace existing monsters sprites and that can easily mean trouble somewhere down the line of a new play through. ie, you fight Omega within the first five minutes of Narshe while still in your MagiTek suits.

Well, after trying about 10 different Strategies, I finally beat Gestahl with Terra alone.

I tried to upload it, but I got some "unknown error" twice in a row, and I'm pretty sure that's because I'm on Dial-Up Speed internet until a couple more days, so I'll have to wait until then.

Wasn't too hard of a boss even with 1 or 2 Characters, but it was definitely a fun one. :D

If you cast "rasp" on gestahl and all the orbs (except the blue one), the battle is very easy

I realised that too and that's what I did the first time I battled them, [with just Terra and Celes], but I'm thinking about not uploading it and doing just a Terra Solo, which would be much more interesting and difficult IMO.

That is another pretty good strategy...the HP Orb may cause a little trouble though if all you were to do was Jump. But Magic will easily take care of it though, unless you didn't want to use any Magic in the Battle. :P

But then again you could equip an Item that has a chance to cast Magic and attack the...-BAH I'm thinking too much into it! xD
