  • great footage of Sayers before the injury. Thanks for sharing!

  • Yay - first comment in 10 months ^.^

  • My first year of organized football (1967) in our rec league each player was responsible for buying his own equipment . I had Gale Sayers signature pads and helmet... and I was the stuff! Then in 1971 I saw the movie 'Brian's Song' and then I read the Gale Sayers book 'I Am Third' and my life was forever changed. I learned more about loving others from that movie and book than I had learned in 10 years of Sunday School.

    God is first,

    friends & family are second,

    I am third... Gale Sayers

  • Sayers was graceful..one can only imagine if he had been able to play more than 6 years. I'm a lifelong diehard Cowboy fan but a real fan respects the greats no matter and Payton and Sayers were two of the greatest.

  • hey tennysonfootball...why you gotta be a hater...the word sucks goes with the word amateur...so you're just being redundant...and mean.

  • ANYONE UP? I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO

    SOMEONE TALK TO ME eY

  • i met Gale Sayers today! he was in Wisconsin at the Appelton Mall! NOT EVEN KIDDING ASK PPL!!! (thats the only reason i looked this up today)

  • Wow that may be some of the oldest amateur footage still around today. Nice!

  • Bears at Wrigley. Damn fine days.

  • Nice video. Gale Sayers was amazing. I have a Gale Sayers T-Shirt that I got at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

  • this is a gem!rare on the field footage!wow!nice.thanx4posting this fantastic vid!

  • Dam he looks fast on that 8mm.

  • he was fast period man he was damn fast

  • very unique footage...but as usual the amateur camerman sucks!

  • My dad was likely an amateur in '65 and with a few brews, and I copied from 8mm, I consider it unusual as you ... But thank you for input. We all hope to see footage of the great Gale Sayers to pop up. What that guy would've done with hash line moved interior huh?

  • If only Gale Sayers played a full career, I have no doubt that he would break 20k rushing yards and well over a dozen return touchdowns. The guy was hands down the best in the business and if it only weren't for that damn injury...

  • this is the shit.......THANXXXX

  • The Bears started 0-3 in 1965, with losses to SF, LA and GB, but finished strong with 9-5 record. Sayers played sparingly the first few games. Many sports writers felt they were the best team in the NFL by the end of the season. They later crushed LA (31-6), Detroit (38-10), GB (31-10), Colts (13-0), and SF (61-20).

  • Super cool that was great any more Sayers please Did the bears win that game?

  • Check out the Wrigley 1965 NFL Montage with additional pics of Gale Sayers. Also see "comments on video" regarding wins in '65. Glad you liked.
