  • Please, please come to KC..

  • I never rate fleet foxes songs but when I do, I hit the thumbs up....

  • I hear they're getting wonderful reviews...

  • One of these times Tillman is going to start flying

  • @angelodelsenno Two words: Idiot commenter

  • @drewbocop yep

  • Just...GOD they're a great band

  • Two words. Gay Lumberjacks.

  • @angelodelsenno Is there something wrong with either of those two things?

  • @gracet2012 I think he's referring to the lumberjack song by Michael Palin :) ( he's a lumberjack and he's so gay, he sleeps all night and works all day ).

  • He looks like he got punched in the eyes haha. Wonderful band!

  • Heavenly....voices of angels

  • does anyone know how they're getting the bass in there? tricky bastards haha

  • @SILOETTE100page The mandolin player is using bass pedals

  • Lie down with me, my dear. Lie down with me.

  • the guys with the mandolin to the right --> fleet foxes' Brian Jones

  • @alexandertarangerkin totally, i just hope he doesnt drag all of them to the "experimentation" side

  • There is no equal to the sheer genius of this band

  • What song is this?

  • @animatedrouge2 Blue Ridge Mountains :)

  • What song is this?

  • g'damn this is a great performance

  • Anyone notice Robin is wearing the same shirt he wore the "Take Away Show" performance of this same song? ....Weeeiirdd....

  • What a performance... The off-timing was killing me though.

  • Epic performance!

  • This is just hypnotizing. It feels like I'm in a horse and buggy going back in time.

  • Have you ever listened to a song and it made the hair on the back of your neck stand up... Everytime. Evertime and even for other people I play it for. Its haunting and beautiful.

  • beards for dayyyyyyyys!

  • 18 are family of the recently deceased.

  • I can die now.

  • God damn, look at that kid with the mandolin. I didn't know Link was in a folk band.

  • @JohnZackarias yeah i thought he was in a rock band.

  • @JohnZackarias You're beautiful.

  • @Womanstached I um, uh...

  • Shhh...

  • @Womanstached I am lost on your intentions.

  • @JohnZackarias No intentions, just a statement.

  • @Womanstached One I will print out and put on my bedroom wall.

  • @JohnZackarias I didn't know it meant so much.

  • @skatechilli88 You have captured the exact way I feel about this band with one simple comment. I'm impressed.

  • An almost astonishing performance!

  • That was an amazing performance, and that was an amazing performance.

  • I wonder how many people that didn't know about them before this immediately downloaded them or even bought a cd after this show.

  • derp derp 4:20

  • Help Caliver get on Sub-Pop Records by watching this!! If you like Fleet Foxes you'll loveeeeeeeeeeee us!

    youtube.com/watch?v=lOMyPkjHpCk&feature=channel_video_title

  • just found out the track that i was talking about is called tiger mountain peasant song, but u guys already knew that as it is easily the best song on the album.

  • @xShootzx 'he doesn't know why' in my opinion is the best, but its really splittin hairs if you think about it hahaha

  • only like one of their songs, but i forgot what it is called, but it is a really good song... the popular mellow track from that album and its a bit sinister sounding

  • the audience didn't know that they're inside a castle probably because fleet foxes didnt know they're kings.

  • I like that the video is 4:20 long

  • @Lacho89 first thing i noticed

  • @Lacho89 Too bad Robin Pecknold doesn't smoke weed.

  • This song is a real jewel! You guys are phenomenal!

  • may i ask how the bass is being played ?!!!! i don't see a bass player or a fender rhodes or nothing like that .. !

  • @SILOETTE100page Do you hear a bass?? I sure don't......

  • @1foofighter606

of course i do listen to 1:50 when the whole band comes in and you can hear the bass shaking through your speakers.

  • Looks like Ellen DeGenitals on the mandolin.

  • It was perfect.... then I heard Paul Shaffer

  • Tambourine. Tambourine . Tambourine!!!!!!

  • This is the best band to wake up and eat cereal to. The only problem is that I have to turn it off and go to work.

  • @skatechilli88 can I finish your cereal?

  • @MrReflectivejim If soggy leftovers are your thing, then go right ahead, sir. Just make sure it's accompanied by a healthy dosage of Fleet Foxes.

  • They're like if Crosby Stills Nash and Young had children with the Universe.

  • Amazing performance.

  • If Jesus had a singing voice....guys I think this would be it ;)

  • I love Robin's nervous mannerism at the end of every song. Humble dude... I wonder why he does it.

  • applause is there just enjoy the music. Fleet-Foxes_ty

  • screw everyone in that audience.

  • robin may some day rule the world.

  • which song is this?

    so amazing

  • @Fretrifters Blue Ridge Mountains - probably my favorite. Check out their takeaway show performance with LaBlogotheque.

  • It's getting reviews so great, even David Letterman needs to say it twice.

  • holy shit cant wait to see them in september. it is going to be life changing.

  • @fcpremix219 i'm seeing them in september too and I am so excited!

  • @smileandlovelife14 awesome! where are you seeing them?

  • I think the vocals need more reverb

  • robin pecknold FTW

  • My Morning Jacket is awesome.

  • So much for the "there is no good music anymore" theory.

  • @ShadowCrashed81 That theory was made by people who don't listen to much new music at all.

  • This so-called "Neo-Folk" movement is NOT the new Seattle sound or even close! Seattle's been looking for the new buzz, and manufactured it by saying this group is it. They couldn't be more wrong. Seattle is way more culturally diverse than a bunch of suburban sons of hippies attempting to recreate the Sub-Pop allure. The new Seattle sound is better compounded in bands like Seven Diels and The Void.

  • @EdgarsCursed That's entirely subjective. One person doesn't get to decide what Seattle's new sound is, but if it were up to the majority then yeah fleet foxes would be it. They are the relatively new big thing and have amazing reviews therefore they might as well represent Seattle's new sound. Geniuses.

  • @melvingchinchilla True enough, it is subjective, but when you have music critics from the Seattle Times like Andrew Matson touting the Fleet Foxes as the new Seattle sound, THAT'S subjective. Remember, Neo-folk has been around long before the Fleet Foxes and is most definitely NOT a Seattle-bred genre. Artists like Jamie Barnes, Joe Montagne, and Citizen Cope have been doing this for years, and they're not Seattlites; and that's fact, not subject to bending objectivity my brother :).

  • Please take a time to listen to the cover I made of this beautiful song on my channel!

  • Robin seems genuinely grateful and happy at the end of the video, it's touching.

  • i listened to montezuma whie trippin, i wish you saw what i saw

  • @Kevin4779 cool.

  • These guys are fantastic!

  • you know its a good band when Letterman parades round the stage with your first album cover. Pecknold is loving it and wanting to hide at the same time.

  • DAMN, Letterman is sexy.

  • DAMN, Letterman is lame.

  • Just because someone has long hair and a beard doesn't mean they're Jesus, man.

  • @bluelipsredhands Yes it does. That's exactly what it means.

  • @D1CHHH Alright, man. Guess it's like, in the eye of the beholder...but Jesus was Jesus, man. Or not..hell, I don't know. But Robert is not Jesus, man.

  • @bluelipsredhands Robert has a long beard accompanied by long, dark hair. Therefore, he is Jesus. There is no need to argue

  • @D1CHHH Not arguing, just saying, man. Robert is better than fucking Jesus.

  • @bluelipsredhands

Actually, during the time of Jesus (if he existed at all), long hair was considered unkempt and kind of silly.

Also, people in the middle east, especially during that time weren't pale skinned, blue eyed European types.

  • its awesome how this ends on 420

    thats respect

  • give the drummer a harmonica or something - that dude is slackin

  • 1:50 changes my life every time.

  • CSNY- reborn. Its a miracle.....

  • @bowedmyhead thank you.

  • this is incredible performance. damn

  • It seems like i'm really high, cause the video/sound lag is reallly tripping me out.

  • @zachi033

    Blue ridge mountain

  • ♥♥♥ this sound...

  • this guys got the best voice of the last 20 years.

  • That voice does not sound like it should be coming out of that man...

  • @jarjardinkey You mean Letterman's one?

  • God damn, they are so talented.

  • LOL Skyler!! I LOVE this song!!! This band is absolutely AMAZING!!!!

  • they sound sooo good live.

  • first time i've heard them - i like, like a lot!

  • Damn, making their network television APPEARANCE. It's so exciting that they're making THEIR network television APPEARANCE. I think you messed up a word in that sentence, Mr. Letterman.

  • 14 people are green eyed look-alikes

  • My other car is a Fleet Foxes.

  • Josh Bray....

  • The only reason the applause wasn't louder at the end was because half of the audience died and went to heaven as they played.

  • @lmPerez901 i WISH I COULD FUCK YOUR COMMENT

  • Good song, Love this band now :D Check out Local Natives, My Morning Jacket and Band of Horses :D

  • Superb!!

  • uta que son wenos estos compadres!!!

  • Nice video time

  • Nice video time

  • Thhis is the only late night TV performanse (besides Beach house on Jimmy Fallon) of a band that I actually remeber watching and then keep watching over and over.

  • wow great performance by the guys here. if you love fleet foxes then you might like the British vocal group CATTLE & CANE - they have a great video on youtube called SOLD MY SOUL x

  • Brilliant live performance of this song. I just love these harmonies and the whole sound -- it does make me think of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where we often went as a family in my childhood. There is something timeless about their music that makes me feel the land. Robin is brilliant.

  • I know these guys personally

  • He has the most wonderful voice. mmmmmmm. This song is great.

  • puuuuuuutsss cara

  • epic reverb

  • I like how Robin Pecknold doesn't even get up from his seat

Go Fleet Foxes, they've easily become one of my favorite bands

  • shut up about the fossil collective

  • That guy has great teeth and HollaCo$t is a great band! Thumbs up if you agree!

  • If you lived in India you would know he's not Jesus. He's the Guru-man. Jesus always trimmed his beard!

But Jesus and the Guru-man both agree: "Holy Cow, good music!" Holy Cow!-get it?, the Guru-man!!- forget it.

  • yes, jesus christ sings way so good

  • Letterman always picks the coolest bands for his show.. he's the man!!!

  • @jaybowcott Also check out Jules Holland show in London - absolutely terrific performances by Foals and Arcade Fire and some others - they all seem to know whose shows to break out on.

  • damn there good!

  • way to forget about the pianist at the end Dave

  • and then the audience exploded

  • who knew there were actually 2 Jesus' and they're both in Fleeting Foxes on lead vocals and percussion

  • I'm seeing Fleet Foxes in a few months. Words can not describe how excited I am

  • what is the name of this song?
