i believe when dueling a geared mage that the easy way to win is just by starting the duel stealthing . swap to full resto gear and do the fight with moonfire/wrath and careful range running. i havent lost that way yet. =\ even to full s3 mages. and im using a pve healing set
you should always have a few combo points on the mage, so you can maim when he summons the pet. that will get you some sec to kill the it. if you dont have any combo points on the mage, dont charge. if you do u have to waste all ur mana on heals, and find urself oom
