All the other force are not cumulative, so although they may seem stronger, when gravity increases it has the ability to overcome the all of the others, including the strong nuclear force. When that occurs, then you get a black hole.

I think what theyre saying is that all things that exist (quarks, waves, particles) are made up of these strings. The pull this HUGE earth exerts on a pin can be countered by a small horse shoe magnet. That's how strong Electromagnetic force is w.r.t Gravity.
