that happens to me too. But i have another problem , when i play sims for like 30 mins. the game freezes for 10 seconds and them my monitor turns off and i cant turn it on anymore then i have to restart my computer ... :L ANY HELP ?
does anyone know how to fix the error where it says please insert the original disk ?? because with my game it says "please insert the original sims 2 fun with pets collection" and it is the original :((( i have a few sims games and they always worked and if it happend i took it out and put it back in then it was fine but every since i installed the sims 2 apartment thing it worked for about a month or so then it started doing that :( help please :((

my sims 2 does the lines on the sims. but it doesnt do the rest. If i go to the neighborhood or try to get furniture it goes to power saving mode (it just goes black basically) and i have to shut the whole computer down and start it back up again. and it keeps doing it. does anyone have any solutions.? if so please tell me. i need all the help i can get!
my old laptop did the same thing. i reinstalled the game and it worked perfectly good.
but now im on a mac and my sims hasn't done that yet so it might just be windows but idk.
reinstall, maybe its a problem with your graphics. when your at a nieghborhood, click on settings and change some. if none of those things work, then you should return it and get your money back cause that shouldn't happen
i have the same pro....do you change the camera settings or exit the game while pressing alt on the tasks ( sorry if u dont understand me,im romanian)

The file had been corrupted , reinstalling is the only solution.
