So I have a 2TB hdd in my desktop, and I just partitioned off 300gb to try this. Partition is formatted NTFS, the partition is shared, has the proper permissions. I have a fat ps2 with a network adapter. I can setup OPL and ping the ps2 from my desktop, but it flat out refuses to see my share. I even enabled the guest account. I have games installed to the partition with USB Extreme, and I also have renamed .iso files, neither one shows. Any help?
@dragoon1808 The answer is use a partition that is the PRIMARY partition. An active LOGICAL partition is not going to work. Do this, use your main C drive, and share a folder there as a test and see what happens.
@dragoon1808 I will have to test this on my end. I know that another user told me he used the primary partition, EVERYONE permission is set on, and life was good. I'll send you a PM with his email response to me about this subject. - Versatile
Or instead of a static IP you can set up reservations in the router. In my router it's called "Public-Private NAT Mappings and Device IP Allocation." Static IP addresses can be annoying if you have multiple machines with some using static and others using dynamic IP. Sadly I couldn't get it to work with NTFS either. Had to use my external USB HDD formatted to Fat32.
@Centrophy I know the answer for NTFS now. Use a partition that is a primary partition, and of course use the EVERYONE group and make sure it has read/write permissions. That should do it!
Youtube has a bug on this video page. I can't respond to people's comments. -_- My PS2 slim does not have a modchip. I used swap magic to make a FMCB memory card. - Versatile
Sorry for the long PS2 tutorial length, but it was the only way to give you that deep, rich modding experience. If you are a PS2 owner, and you have the tools to do this, then awesome. If not, well, PS2 used consoles are getting cheap. Make sure to get any model under the SCPH-9XXXX series if you want to relive old school gaming. - Versatile

@gamedexterity It was a primary partition, but I shared a new folder on my C drive and tried it again, and the share still doesn't show up in OPL.

@dragoon1808 : We need to start simple. So you can ping the PS2 and you get reply back in milliseconds right?
gamedexterity 1 month ago
@gamedexterity yes, I can ping the ps2, it usually comes back <1 ms.
