This was a great album. Saw Kenny at a small club called The Bodega in Campbell, CA around 1980. We enjoyed the show and got to chat with him afterward at the bar. Sad to know he is gone.
Many thanks to Cliff Seale for introducing me to Kenny Rankin. Cliff, you expanded my musical horizons and I'm indebted to you! Rest in peace until then, Cliff - I owe you, my friend.
@rjlhuang This is great. I listened to her, she sings it a little differently than kenny, but man, she's got a voice. I'm glad I caught this comment. Thank you :D.
This is my favorite of all of Kenny's songs. his delivery is ... spectacular.
I'm happy to be able to say that we were friends for a time, not long before he passed away.I cherish the time we spent together, the things he shared with me.
I was on a bussiness trip up in Idaho and thought I would check out my hotels talent while I had dinner. I did a double take when I heard the singing guitarist start his first set. He did most of Kenny's well known songs and if you closed your eyes you would think it was Kenny at the Pasadena Ice House. I went back 3 more nights to hear Kenny's wonderful collection of life's moments.
This is news to me. He died over two months ago and I never knew about it. I have both his albums Inside & Silver Morning and they are classics I will never forget. RIP Kenny Rankin your music lives on forever in my heart.
I also bought this album about the same time you did. Treasure Rankin's music. In 1999 I had the opportunity to photograph an event here in Chicago at Carson's Ribs. An anniversary for the restaurant. Heard the night's talent. The singer sounded so much like Kenny Rankin. Turned out to be Kenny Rankin. Nicest guy.
@frankstelt: Glad you got to see and meet him too. I still lived in Chicago in '99 and wish I knew he was at Carsons'. I would have been there. I met him in New Orleans, and he couldn't have been nicer. Has been my fav. vocalist since the early '70s. Hope they release whatever they can of the album he was working on when he passed. I was amazed at his age when he died. I thought he was 10 or 15 yrs. younger. Looked great.
wonderful song, My Mom and Dad had this LP, he was such a great guitarist too... just dreamy to hear him sing, I played it over and over... Bop Ba Dahh. he will be missed
I remember my parents had a copy of this LP, I played this song over and over, He was beautiful, and great on the guitar too ! he will be missed. I still have the LP,one of my faves, comfort to his family

I've LOVED this song for 30+ years. What a gem of a musician. I don't understand why more people don't know of him and his amazing body of work...

To Kidonthenet, I just discovered a female version of this song by Emilie Claire Barlow. Beautiful rendition as well. Enjoy...

One of the Most Perfect songs ever.
This and Bacharach's "The Look Of Love"
Romeo and Juliet on a Rainy Day ... bumping into one another.
That imagery is dreamy romantic : )

Kenny Rankin certainly recorded more than two albums. Do you mean you have two of his albums - rather than "both?"
However, RIP, Kenny. We love you. We miss you.
This song is one of my all time favorites. Thanks for posting, ozu8868.
