  • this software's just epic....

  • a download link for this is simply nonexistent. i will never get to play this. so sad.

  • This is totally awesome :D

  • This would be amazing if they used this in combination with the Unlimited Detail Engine to make a game

  • Engine created by God.avi

  • yeah, this is going in the fapfolder and nobody's stopping me

  • Fucking TECHNOLOGY!

  • i have always wondered what a whole bunch of bunnies with the consistency of diarrhea thrown at a wall would look like... now i know.

  • @C0Opd0g lol

  • looks better than reality ;)

  • awesome

  • song?

  • bunnies

  • *put sunglasses off*

    mother...of...god....

  • 0:20 wow.. looks real!

  • now i can use my new computer to play a 1X1 foot square game, because thats all it can handle with this. AWESOME!!!!!

  • Look like "Fuck yeah!"

  • How many eons did this take to render?

  • This needs to be implemented into cryengine 4!

  • Wet sand!

  • Is this in real time?

  • @OwnageFish Some effects are shown in real time (see later parts in the video). The rest should be non realtime stuff as Lagoa can take seconds to hours for single frame calculations, depending on the settings you've entered.

  • The NASA called. They want their computer back.

  • fantasztikus!

  • no game can use this... for a pretty long time... i mean this can use an engine based on this, but the same effects can't be recreated on a game...it would take too much time to render =P

  • does anyone know if this can be downloaded and if so when?

  • Now those are ultra heavy meshes! O.o

  • Particles have a strange behaviour, look heavy but the small amounts collide like foam.

  • whats the song?

  • Great stuff!

Now make some games with it and for the love of God, DON'T LET NVIDIA BUY IT (nor ATI)!

  • XSI user was lucky -_-

  • is there a way to get this a play with it ?

  • High friction granular materials is impressive, but the question is how many fps do you have with which cpu?

  • Go Softimage!! Thanks Thiago!

  • Best physics demo I've seen in a while! So much realism!

  • Wow Oo AMAZING WORK !!!

  • lo que pueden hacer la computadora de ahora.... como sera el futuro..

  • What is the best physics engine out there right now for 360 games?

Just Cause 2, GTA IV, or is there an even better one?

GTA IV's engine looks and feels awesome.

    And Just Cause 2 too.

  • @luckyazian13 Well, Just Cause 2 use Havok which probably is the most common and one of the best

  • @AeonVitaVideos

I thought it was the Avalanche 2.0?

  • @luckyazian13 Avalanche is the whole game engine and Havok which is only for physics effects is a part of the engine i believe

  • @luckyazian13 GTA use Euphoria for player and I think the common physic is a home made one [included in Rage]. As Lagoa is, DMM physic is awesome, check on youtube.

  • @drytaffin GTA IV uses Bullet Physics (free and open source Physics Engine) for its physics simulation.

DMM also uses Bullet Physics for its rigid body simulation, the material physics is of course custom :P.

  • @sl1nk3 : Thanks for the infomations, I never found which one it was.

  • @luckyazian13 GTA 4 does not use a physics engine a such, they have employed people to dynamically program physics into their games.

    Check it out.

    naturalmotion(DOT)com/euphoria

  • @luckyazian13 They both use the same physics engine, Havoc. GTA IV uses Euphoria to mimic reflex reaction in their npcs.

  • @luckyazian13 for overall games i think its cryengine 3, frostbite 2 and Unreal 3

  • @luckyazian13 Gta's physic engine is better, its called "euphoria". Its a physics/animation engine.

  • wicked.

  • DO WANT

  • where was this stuff when i was doin 3d, damnit!

  • GTA V needs this

  • @ThatAdelaideGuy Yes, this and better shooting and cover mechanics more akin to uncharted 2.

  • @ThatAdelaideGuy The game would shit itself

  • @ThatAdelaideGuy It would be impossible or very limited when used in consoles.

  • i want this in my life.

  • Simply amazing!

  • Simply amazing!

  • whats the song called?

  • Impressive - for games

  • @saphireee if the game engine can handle it, yes

  • If only I had a 8k graphic workstation I could use it...the make a game better than crysis using it!.! Agha

  • @recorps1

I doubt this would be used for games...more for CGI and Hollywood movies than a game. There is already a physics based API for games called NaturalMotion euphoria. It was used for one of the Star Wars games. This is more as a plugin for whatever 3D software you're using. It'd be great if it were compatible with more than one software, like Maxwell.

  • @rpenri then why is this engine made by the lead director of ubisoft?

  • @Nickolie56 It a solver not game /physics engine.Although it could be used in cinematics for game.

Thiago made SPH addon for ICE available and free for users of Softimage XSI,this is more advanced version of it.

    It's pure effort,heart and ICE.

No wonder he's lead TD in Ubisoft.

  • @Nickolie56

If you look closely at the video, you'll see that the interface is through a 3D software (don't know specifically which one...but it is).

This looks to be too CPU-heavy for any console to process on the fly. Maybe a scaled down version...but not this particular version of it.

Ubisoft is a company just like any other. If they happen to create a product that is desired, just because it doesn't have anything to do with games doesn't mean it can't make them money.

  • @Nickolie56

Not to mention the quality of the shadows and light. The raytracing for the shadows is obvious...no game engine can reproduce soft/hard shadows like these.

Why would they also suggest it's easy to "adjust the quality of your simulations?" Who would do that? The game player? LOL...no. It's more like the 3D artists who would be doing it.

PS...I think the render engine is Arnold.

  • What ever it is... i want it...
