  • Siempre me han gustado Duran Duran, tengo todos sus discos y Le Bon era mi amor de adolescente pero el pobre canta como el culo.

  • LIVE

  • I remember when I saw my first poster of Duran Duran....I was in the 6th grade!! From that moment on I was hooked. I think I went and bought every issue of BOP I could find just for the posters and articles of them. Boy did I drive my folks crazy!! I'm almost 40 now and it amazes me how my heart still skips a beat when I see one of their videos or hear one of their songs....songs that I STILL know by heart. When I think of my teenage years, I will always think of Duran Duran...LOVE YOU GUYS!!

  • @lacykat05 It's funny that you mention BOP, because, I received these magazines very delayed in Chile and they were my favourite, because, I had a Duranie frenzy for information. That magazine gives me the best memories of my puberty. I remember I was 11 when I heard of them.

  • holy sh*t Simon looks so HOT here!

  • Roger te amo con premeditacion y alevosia mi amor, te adoro.

  • 30 years later, they OWN Coachella!

  • AMAZING SONG and a lesson to play keyboard with 2 fingers :)

  • Arriba duran duran

  • worst fashion statement but a very good song!!

  • Precious video ,classic song, the best

  • Taylor and rotten are genious.

  • Maybe the best song ever.

  • This song is awesome...

  • I have never seen this clip ... thanks so much for sharing

  • duranduran is the greatest artist of the 80s!!

  • Great footage of a great band - they showed their class then and are still showing it today!

  • Mucking Farvolous!!!

  • wow, i guess they are kinda my generations beatles..

  • i was 9 years old here...now i'm in my late 30's!!!

  • @lucybellzoe

    OLD

  • Great vocals and music from the old grey whistle test, what a pity they weren't this discliplined in live concerts.

  • This Group is Second only to the Beatles !!

  • There's nothing wrong with Simon's dancing. If you judge it, you obviously never experienced the wonderful spirit of the 80s. (Not that I did, I was born in 1990 but I'm open minded). What would you rather him be doing? Beyonce moves? :/

  • @MrsRhythmNation good dancing? it's not shit dancing OR beyonce dancing is it? shit voice too, good song though :)

  • @fuckamericanidiot Yeah but his voice works for the band. At times it's quite a strong voice. Bob Dylan can't sing for shite but it works, like. His dancing isn't all that bad he just had low confidence which sometimes showed on stage in the early days. His moves are actually great on the 'Arena' or 'Sing Blue Silver' dvds.

  • @MrsRhythmNation you are totally right, and his voice has improved over the decades (as did Phil Oakey's from the Human League), so good point.

  • he sings as flat as a fart

  • you think that's flat? try the 'world spins so fast i might fly off' bit of the STUDIO 'sound of thunder'. 'anyone out there' is a great 80's song. aside from the singles, there was a fair bit on this album that was closer to early japan than the new romantic scene. duran's best stuff by far imo (partly because a lot of their other stuff was coked shite).

  • @jimmygoggins sure, simon may not have the strongest voice but it's a good voice and it works and no-one else could fit in his place. he's a great entertainer, live. listen to their early demos with other singers, it just doesn't work.

  • @jimmygoggins thats ridiculous that he sings flat .Simon Has A GREAT set of pipes and can sing his ass off ! One of the BEST EVER !

  • Oh. I'm so sorry that Andy's gone for good. He's such a great musician and he developed an awesome rock sound for Duran Duran. Didn't notice he provided chorus for this great song also. Andy please come back!!! We miss you!!!

  • @ooviedoc Andy Taylor will ALWAYS be a part of Duran Duran. He was one of the original/ founding members. Do you remember the song he did, 'Take It Esay', from '85 or '86, when he left DD in a hurry over some contractual issue? Do you remember that song? Duran Duran's history rivals that of an American soap opera... Don't worry, Andy will still be around. I don't remember his exact dob but I know that he is an Aquarian (Feb. 7, maybe), so he will be around and doing things, don't worry ;)

  • @8g9ftso Well, some months ago I was still sad Andy's gone. However now I'm convinced Andy is done about DD and the guys are done about Andy, so yes he'll always be part of the history of DD but I'm happy the way they've managed to make such an amazing album like All You Need Is Now without Andy or Warren...looks like the band doesn't need Andy anymore and that's somehow great for everybody if they don't want to live always in the past.

  • thanks for posting!! you made my day! simon le bon totally totally owned the stage and was such a hottie, I thought I 'd have married him! LOL

  • love simon!!!!!

  • @cherrybomb2700 his singing on this is awful

  • Le Bon could not dance for toffee...He did improve afterwards...DD : greatest band of the 80s, after Simple Minds...

  • All boys danced that way in the early 80's ...even the likes of Tony Hadley & Dave Gahn...But yeah mad New romantic dancing it was!!

    ;0)

  • I swither between this album and Rio and never come to a definite conclusion as to which is best. This entire album is postively electic and wonderful. Rio is too. Duran, like all bands I know of, hit their creative peak early on...with exception of the odd track (im thinking Finest Hour). This album was played in my house for 10 years. Friends of MIne followed by Nightboat are best...11/10 for Duran Duran

  • love simons headscarf very cool, i think this song brings back memories

  • Test passed! :D A+/1*

  • They're hotter than anybody else!!The song is amazing and Simon is really wonderful wearing those trousers, those boots and all the rest... BTW Simon is hot even wearing nothing!!!OMG...Duran the bests, 4ever!!!

  • Que bizarro!!

    me encanta!!

Simon que pensara ahora de esta imagen?

    jaja,

    ME encanta Duran2

  • @INDIALUCIA que se hizo millonario en parte gracias a eso? ja ja ja

  • What a pretty sound Mr. Lebon has. :)

  • Bueno, asi lamentablemente era la moda de los 80,pero eso no desmerece lo talentosos de estos muchachos, su musica permanece en el tiempo

  • Ha..looks like Simon got punched on the right side side of his face 2:15 shows it well

  • Nice song. Duran Duran traspasan la pantalla. Duran are the best.

  • very nice rare video.

    i like it very much.

    duran are the best.

  • of course, simon its a men super sexi, handsome, cute, ITS NOT GAY!!

    TE AMO BAMBINO !!!

  • I was a huge fan back in the day and this recording surpasses by far anything on the Arena album. They should've taken whoever did the sound for this on the big tour in 1984.

  • as this is the old gray whistle test the person responsible for the sound would heve belonged to the bbc

which has we all know have never been very good with lending things to people

  • In 80s everybody danced like Simon! It was a style of star dancings. Simon is getero! And He is handsome too) I like the way he dances. When I look how dance new pop-artists I just want to get sleep! It is boring. But Simon 100% talent, he can dance too))))

  • Simon is not gay !!!

  • good song.

    Thanks.

  • one of my favourite songs, lovely

  • another one fabulous track of a million DD gems

  • John's bass lines always are tops - and agreed on the lyrics. All and all, Duran Duran,(the early days before they had the split), were an unbelievably talented and amazing band. Never did get enough credit for that.

  • one of my favourite songs

  • That bassline kicks MAJOR ASS

  • this is my favorite from the first album. it used to make me cry. it's one of the few duran duran lyrics that i can easily understand all the way through, and i always thought it was so sad, just a story of pure loneliness.

no one ever recognizes them for their lyrics, but i have never listened to anything that compares to duran duran lyrically.

  • justme8485

    Yes...

I tried to put together "Cracks in the Pavement"lyrically in the 80's and it was either not ment to make sense or is real deep.

  • I agree; I've always been a major fan and am also a writer; their lyrics inspire me.

  • great song, but Simon funny danced;-)

  • That was some really bad white guy dancin'. But, yes, great song.

  • I loved this song when I was a young kid DURAN DURAN ARE THE BEST!

  • @riobluebell u must like tunes that don't make any big time chart gains

  • I still have my moon boots--both shiny and suede. Simon's necklace --he called it his tiger baby

  • Well called them Pixie boots in the UK back in the day.

  • COOL!!! maybe they will resurface in style

  • Nice song. Esta muy guapo Simon L.B. .Up Duran Duran.

  • Great, I love this kind of video, and watch them when the´re were young. Obviously they became famous, they are so talented.

what about Andy´s hair???? I prefer him with Rio look

  • SWEET! And so well done for so long ago. Simon is the man!

  • Love this video.

  • ok..i'm weird..xD..but i like how r they dressed in the video..especially in their early video..with that thing on his head..xD

    :))

  • He's wearing his tiger necklace! How do you find this great stuff?

  • lol...that damn necklace. I wonder if he still has it. It'd be cool if one of his daughters wore it.

    Was this song ever released?

  • Not that I know of. I saw that necklace on him in a photo not too long back.

  • Next to "New Religion", this is their best song.

  • let me dance like that

  • Great to see a live performance on OGWT that is actually live!!

  • One more time..."Is there anyone out there?"

  • I know I am. I've watched this video...oh say, about 10 times in the last 4 days.

  • Thank you!!! I was wondering when I was going to get a reply! Keep on watching...

  • esto si es calidad, muchos grupos deberían aprender a tocar como ellos. sobre todo por el pop gringo fome que se hace por estos días, en que apenas uno sabe si cantan o no.

  • they also did a cover of david bowies 'fame' in 1981/82 and couple of others i believe.

  • they also did a whole album of covers in 1995 in their 'thank you' album. songs such as perfect day and some led zeplin covers and other stuff.

  • "Is there anyone out there?"...Hello....

  • 3:09 to the end...Absolutely the best! I always loved that part of the song... Anyone else? "is there anyone out there?...

  • Simon, the best dancer ever..:)

  • LOL indeed. Still, I tried to copy his moves every childhood chance I got. :)

  • WOW! Thank you so very much for posting!!!

    Brought tears to my eyes.

  • Classssiiikkkkk! :)

  • did duran duran write this song there self or did another artist/singer sing this before them??

  • they wrote this song themselves. they write all their own stuff. =]

  • its coz thought that ive heard this song before

    :)

this is another fab song duran duran

    :)

  • ohhh okay =]] yeah I looove Duran Duran, they're my favorite band!!

  • Fantastic song, and just how good does Simon look.

  • amo kmo baila simon

amlos amo, duran duran es la mjor banda del mundo

  • actually their first was a single . However Duran Duran's -Duran Duran was their first album.

  • actually planet earth was thier first song....hungry like the wolf didnt hit america until 82......then they re-released this album......they are the greatest.....no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is there anyone from San Francisco that remember seeing Duran Duran at the Kabuki in 1982?

  • actually, yes... tho i can't say for sure if it was '82 or '81! The WEIRD thing is that I've read online that that show was cancelled - to which I can honestly say BS! Sure nuff, I liked to drink LOTSA back then, but can hardly imagine imagining an entire show. Were you also at that show, bud?

  • This simple song...what I love it so much and what a great album!! Was their first!

  • Never the Beatles, Across the Universe, this should have been sent into deep space.

  • I never knew Duran Duran were on the OGWT..It would be like Leona/Will Young etc.. being on Jools Holland these days! There should be another show like OGWT these days so these xfactor guys dont hog the limelight!

  • Duran is GREAT. Check out MY concert vids, spanning from 81-07 so far. High quality, and hot and sassy!!!

  • I am very serious about finding this on compact disc. Is this specific PERFORMANCE available on CD or DVD that anyone is aware of?! Once again, I am desperate to find said *performance* of this song. Thank you much!

  • Something this old would be on VHS. You might try Ebay.Cheers.

  • One of my alltime favs

  • I remember watching this performance on TV when I was 13. In those days I would often plug my radio cassette recorder into a socket at the back of the telly and record the audio on shows like the OGWT and The Tube. I had this "anyone out there" on tape for a while but probably ended up recording over it. Seeing this again has brought all the great memories flooding back! Fantastic song, it has that slightly unpolished feel that gives it a special edge. Thanks so much for posting the video.

  • Simon Lebon has that "I heard it in a dream" type of voice, something like mine I've been told.

  • Duran para sempre!!! Simon é lindo!!!

  • this is and has always been one of my favorites by duran duran along side ordinary world , this was recorded very early in their career

  • One of the best Duran Duran tunes ever... are there aliens out there? ;)

  • This song always did and still reminds me of non-human intelligences more than anything else...

  • Ha ! Libo le Mendo sa chitehead

  • Never thought I'd see this again, thank you

  • Bella canzone, grandissimi Duran Duran

  • wow this is a great song. Never seen this clip, thanks for posting. double d were great. a legend group.

  • Dios mío...He sido fan de Duran Duran desde los 11 años y Simon fue mi primera fantasía sexual. Así de fuerte.

Oh, my God! I've been a Duranie since I was 11 and Simon was my first sexual fantasy...I had a crush on him! Hahahaha!

  • Love this song! Thanks for this video! I still love Simon!! He was my first crush and I still get excited when I hear one of their songs or see one of their videos.

  • Easily one of their best (and most underrated) songs.

  • Spammer, you should be forced to ride on Tiberfake's tour bus. Go away.

  • thats some strong guitar.

  • Brings back memories of seeing them on tour in 1982 in small venues!

  • This is DD SOUND,when Andy was new-wave,now i think he is Gary Moore II

  • Andy Taylor ---- the guy is one great guitar player. Why did you change your sound Duran Duran?!?!? Get Andy back.

  • They were a fantastic live band and great musicians. A cut above their competitors

  • I love this song!! <3

  • tan rico que se ve simon ahi

    lindo lindo!!!!!

  • SIMON ES MUY LINDO AHORA TAMBIEN...

  • Super song!!!

  • love the old stuff

  • My fav Duran song...Fabulous thanx for sharing

  • one of my fav duran songs, thanx, also, analog synths rule!

  • Great performance, great song! Andy and Nick rules.

  • What type of guitar is Andy using?

  • I believe it's a Gibson Custom SG.

  • yamaha electric.

  • Are you serious? I just got one today!

  • I wonder if anyone has all of their albums because I will love them in any condition!

  • I love everything you post about Duran Duran! Keep on posting!

  • Thanks for posting! I thought I have seen most of the rare clips- the older, I get the more I appreciate these! This is cool- not even lip synched. I wish I had the original 7" acetate. Love your other posts too.

  • Cracking Song..dodgy fashion

  • One of my Favorite DD songs! Wish they would show this OGWT on Vh1 classic.

  • It's such an old song very special and misterious...

  • this is what we used to call POP, with capital letters...

  • Amen.

Its waaay cool to see Nick behind a bunch of analog synthesizers. This very song is the catalyst for my fascination with them. Damn good post.

  • What show is this from?

  • Old grey

    Whislte test...

  • I love this song! Their coolest songs were off their first two albums.

  • You're right, their coolest songs were off their first 2 albums. It's to bad Andy decided to leave them...again.

  • the early early 80's stuff is definatly the best ... love the OGW stuff too because they actually play live instead of idiotic lip syncing!

  • hummm..... 3 first albums, Seven and the Ragged tiger too !!
