However now have a PC that can (Hopefully) run FFXIV, and I am thinking about buying it today because I have really been wanting to try it out. Would you find your self able to recommend it? *Carrying on* (sorry, meant to put XII and XIII) - get into. I don't like the idea of Hack n Slash games with a Turn Based aspect. I just think Nintendo should go back with Square and make a new Final Fantasy, like the good ones. Maybe then we'll even get a Super Mario RPG remake :D

See, ever since Nintendo stopped with the production and Square went over to Sony, the Final Fantasy's have been shit. FF7 was good because Nintendo wrote the story, and Sony just edited it a little, nothing major. I like 8, but not as much as I probably would have. 10 is one of the best, then it went downhill. Even IX (yes, 9, it's not a typo) I didn't like, and they were more old-school with that than the others. XI was an MMO, except on the DS which I have yet to play, XI and XII I couldn't -

@PokeymanTrainer FFXI wasn't on the DS. That would have been weird if the DS could play FFXI. but no that one was PC/PS2 only, up until the Xbox 360 had a version. Beyond that though I have to respectfully disagree, I do agree that FF has been kinda going down hill since FFVI and FFVII that doesn't mean they were at all bad. Square wrote the story, not Nintendo just to clarify. I actually really liked FF8

@WhitemageSerenia FF7 was great, but over-rated, FF8 was another really good one, in fact, one of the top selling Final Fantasies to date until Final Fantasy 13 outsold it. I found 13 to be really good as well, far too many unfair complaints among alot of the fans. 12 was quite good as well, but I can understand a majority of the complaints. FF10 was... not as good as I first thought. FFXI I've played (and still play) for 8 years. so really its a matter of opinion ^^

The one thing that seems kind of dumb to me is that FFXI is still P2P, even though MMOs that were released At the same time as FFXI have gone to F2P with cash shop. (Except World of Warcraft of course, But that's because it's WoW.) Why is that? Is it because of the whole convoluted and outdated Playonline client? Does Square-Enix really intend to support an over 10 year old game? I don't know, would you be mad if FFXI went free to play?

If they say, went F2P with a subscription model (IE DCUO) where in certain content gets locked, like mog lockers/satchels or w/e unless you pay the subscription option and players (like myself) still get restricted if we take the F2P model yeah that'd piss me off. but otherwise it probably wouldn't. I kinda would like that depending on how it was done. That way I wouldn't have to feel torn between both games.

I was really skeptical about this game and I wasn't really considering getting it, but after watching this it looks like it's worth a try. Pugilist looks like my kind of class, kind of reminds of Teras Kasi in SWG Pre-CU (RIP SWG).

And really...it's only 59 SEK at a really good game store I know (that's $8) so there is really no excuse not to get it and at least try it out for the free month. I assume there is a free month since it usually is that way with MMORPG's.

Glad to hear you are getting back into lping I have played some of Legaia to but then my copy was stolen so i am pretty excited to see what you make of it. They have done so much work on the game, its turning around to my surprise. My issues for why I don't play still linger though. It feels like a console game on PC. If they can make it more PC friendly and cut down on the mass amount of menus it will finally be a great MMO I can enjoy. Did they ever fix the huge delays when you attack/harvest?

I may consider this game when it comes out for the PS3. I am a console player. I played a lot of FFXI back in the day, but been 5 years removed from it. (played on the Remora server) But I am a huge fan of the THF class.. which this game doesn't have. Perhaps there is a rogue like class I would try out.

WMS, I shake my fist at you man. I've always had this little curiosity about this game, and just seeing you play it is making that curiosity a "Hey, you should totally give it a try!" thing. And since the Fatigue system is apparently gone now too... Hm... I will have to find out when the soonest my budget will allow me to try the game out. I'm a huge fan of MMOs and Final Fantasy. I've never tried either of the FF MMOs before, but I may try this one, it seems much more manageable, financial wise, than games like World of Warcraft where its 15 dollars monthly(Plus like 90 for expansion packs). Tell you what Serenia, seeing your FFXI videos as well, I'll probably give this one a try, it seems real interesting.

Well to judge a game one has to play from level 1 to endgame content. Only then i feel can one give a proper review. Ive recently playing starwars the old republic and tbh it feels like the game is way to casual and buggy for me. And were talking bugs that crashes the game, dancing makes you untargetable by bosses, ui bugs out totally, and so on and so forth. The story line choices is also making my character sound stupid too, like "durrr i kill now?". Im feeling mmos are being too casualised.

@ariosgn0074 I can't honestly say that, both are good games, and both are their own entity. Some things XIV has better (graphics, Combat system) and some things FFXI has better, (content, party system, overall job balancing) but to be fair, FFXI is more well established, and XIV is still young. So we'll see

@mmichaelwwong FFXIV is meant to be more casual than FFXI was, so the skill cap does feel a bit lower. But they are planning alot of end-game like content intended for the hardcore or more "skillful" players. So as I said in the video, to each their own XIV may or may not be for you ^^
