I haven't played it in a year so I was trying to get my main character up to where I didn't need a second character. I'm not fond of the other characters so I mainly try to avoid switching characters. I think I only switched in 3 battles or something.
But you can win against two characters only using one, tahts massacre.
Like when you got only red health left while your opponent still full, then suddenly eats up his whole life using 5 gauge moves in a row? SiCK

I'm not great. Just average gamer. I haven't played this game in a year so I had to learn stuff during the match. Kinda fun once again.
