Here is a tip some people may not know: After getting the national pokedex, the elite four is much stronger then before.

That same thing happened to me. When you leave the distortion world, you and cynthia end up in sendoff springs, allowing you to continue your adventure. But you can also see an entrance to a cave that cynthia is blocking, AKA, turnback cave, where you find giratina in d/p versions. To get cynthia out of your way, you must beat the elite 4. When you enter, it's the same puzzle, only instead of seeing giratina, it's a portal back to the distortion world to get the Lustorus orb.
