What is this trend I'm seeing among conservatives that when they are making arguments on this subject ( I swear!) take on the tone of a twelve year old trying to mumble their way through a sentence but taking on a warbly cutesy voice for affect. This is what I saw on the girl with the bad perm in this video and various congressional and senatorial GOP men. It's wierd when they start acting alike, as if on some mansonian brainwash, but when it's like twelve year olds they imitate...very odd!!
This was great! Jane Hamsher is Awesome! The lady she was debating was spewing statistics which she had memorized, you could tell she had no understanding of the true gravity of their meaning. Give 'em hell Jane!
quite entertaining. here in austria (careful, no kangeroos here) we've got public insurance companies. you get every treatment you need. and nobody has to die because they can't afford treatment.
be my guest and call that "socialism". who's more probable to deny you treatment: a public non-profit or a private profit-oriented insurance company?
As a Canadian, I am amazed you guys have such shitty shitty healthcare. Aren't you the richest country in the world? Why is your healthcare so much worse than ours and why for gods sake is it run for profit?
Because we have two right-wing parties, and our president is every bit as progressive as Richard fucking Nixon on most fronts (choosing to mask his lack of a progressive backbone with "the perfect is the enemy of the good").
Her numbers were right with regard to public option having an overwhelmingly huge public mandate (as well as public-only albeit via a weaker mandate, closer to 55% for single-payer). It's run for profit because congress is beholden to lobbyists.
Yes, it is much better to have a corporate suit, who gets paid a bonus every time he manages to deny you healthcare because not treating you while collecting your insurance payment every month maximizes his HMO's profits, stand between your doctor and you receiving healthcare.
All hail the Corporation.
By the way, there is no 'government bureaucrat' who stands between you and anything in publicly funded healthcare.
For the simple reason, that you have an automatic right to be treated.
LMAO! Only a far left wing nut leftist would be in favor of having the US Govt involved in YOUR health care decisions between YOU and your doctor. Thank God, it looks like there's no hope for this idiotic play. Why in God's name would you give this kind of power to politician??
Oh, you're so witty... Wait, that's not wit, that's complete, unadulterated ignorance. Are you're health care decisions presently only between you and your doctor? If you have insurance, I'm gonna go with no. There are corporate bureaucrats between you and your doctor. So how about you shut the fuck up and stop making comments about topics that you clearly don't understand. Just sit there in your trailer, fondling yourself, while you listen to Rush. Fucking douche-nozzle.
Not to be mean, but Jillian Bandes looks like a man wearing a very bad wig.

To have universal health care, we must cure the universal disease.

The insurance companies really shouldn't turn down people willing to pay, but here we are, debating this for a reason....
And to the people thinking all of the 50 million people w/o insurance are all immigrants, kiss my uninsured/denied american tax paying ass!
