well i thought angel was a pretty good show but NOT better than Buffy! i mean Buffy has gotten more recognition than Angel did so i see angel as nothin more than a spinoff of Buffy that kinda tried too hard to be what it was and plus it bored me so yeah u know i like Buffy better and can re-watch it over and over and over lol but yeah angel bores me

i loved angel series 1 to 5. but the way it was rounded off just left me cold (and very annoyed!)

it seamed as if whedon had just got his money pulled again and told "quickly round up this entire mythology in 2 episodes!"

i tell you what, im re-watching them all and im half way through series 5 now, so i'll suspend judgement and try and watch it with new eyes.

but i do remember being really dissapointed the first time round. where as buffy wrapped up exactly how it should have with buffy getting what she always wanted. i felt that angel was rushed and nothing was really resolved.

...the whole thing feels like its leading towards the prophecy of him being human, then its snatched away at the end! :(

i got to say though, since writing my original comment on this page i've rewatched the last series and i was a lot more satisfied with the last ep.

it makes sense to me now what angel said in series 2 about how the only thing that matters is what you do now........kinda made that more meaningfull that he never actually got what he wanted.

but theres still the comics! ;) x

like x men last stand. its like their saying "see! its really is the last one, were getting rid of all your favorite people!" :(

Dollhouse is absolutely brilliant! Possibly one of the most original shows I've scene recently. It's also really underrated. So many people dislike Dollhouse, but I think it's really fascinating. I don't think one should compair it to Buffy, Angel or Firefly, because it's not really LIKE those shows one way or another.

@Mrpointy22 Actually, they have different tones and different goals. It does confuse me a bit when a person hates one while loving the other; Preferring one over the other, however, isn't much of a surprise though. Especially considering they both are their own shows. Because if they were the same show, then why bother with creating a spin-off? So I gotta disagree with you there. They are not the same.

Personally, I prefer Buffy, but Angel has moments that are just as impressive.

Buffy - Pretty good.

Angel - Really good.

Buffy - I love it, probably the best Joss has done.

Angel - Really good, but not equally emotionally resonant.

Firefly - This is what good me hooked to the Whedonverse. Judge it compared to the first 14 eps of any other show, it absolutely rules them all. Absolutely! You are not a Whedonfan if you havent enjoyed firefly.

Dollhouse - Yeah, good, but mostly in a "what comes next" kinda way.

Well, I've never really watched Buffy, so I don't know, but I can tell you that Firefly absolutely blew me away. I have NEVER been in love with a show the same way that I'm in love with Firefly. And I've watched quite a few shows.
