Haha you're funny, you did well! I have 2 stallions and they're just like kids! They're respectful but I don't try and train em for anything exept stuff I'll need them to cope with for their health, like shots, worming, the farrier, and grooming.
That's a good point to bring up. People can accidentally train horses to be nippy when feeding treats if they give the horses treats when the horse nuzzles or reaches for them. In this video I specificaly wait for the horse to turn his head away from me and stand stationary before I give him the treat. BTY I've fond that mares are much worse than stallions because they've already been trained by many people to grab for treats. So it takes more time to untrain this rude behavior.
ummm have you ever noticed that there are many stallions in the world that are trianed and ridden daily? plus many lusitano males are keep as stallions, and are trained.
Yes, but some horse people (vets, professors, staff) at the university & vet school where I taught animal behavior courses did not. They considered some stallion breeds easy to train and the ones they found hard, too dangerous or difficult to train. For example, on the video called "Stallion's Bad for the Farrier" was a horse that was "too difficult" to give hoof trims even with tranquilizers. After 1 week of crude counterconditioning the farrier was able to hoof trim without tranquilizers.
The comments on the untrainability of stallions came from individuals in a respected animal science and vet university. These videos are for those people who don't believe stallions can be trained. I have met many people "in the business" who don't think it's possible.
