You're certainly playing the right notes in the right order. Theres just no feeling. I think your timing is a bit poor. Have you listened to it much or are you just playing it from sheet music? Well done if you're playing it by ear - it just sounds a bit wooden if I'm honest.
Hi!! I just watch the film out of DVD and I immediately love the theme song. Do you know where I can find the piano sheet of this theme song? Or are you willing to send me one music sheet please? Thank you^^ my e-mail: cinna_chenyu0829@hotmail.com
Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I listen to this music excellent and a massive thank you for playing this the way it is supposed to be played.
I loved your playing of Miss Marple's theme song. I made a parody of her, called Miss Mah Poo, which is on youtube! Great job! How universal Agatha Christie's Miss Marple is. Here you are in South Korea and I'm in Hollywood!
In terms of performance you do rush the rhythms quite a bit, and I personally feel many of the melody notes are too staccato. But hey, just my two cents.
Hey, pianomike1, this theme, as I'm sure you're aware, is from the Joan Hickson Miss Marple series. It is interesting to note that not only is she regarded as the definetive Jane Marple, but also Dame Agatha once told her she wanted her to play the spinster sleuth. Ms Rutherford played the part with more humour, which just wasn't right for the character.
Cheers, but somehow Maggie Rutherford sticks as the can't-be-beat Miss Marple in my mind. So does Ron Goodman's music. Who cares about good ole Agatha anyway? Best, M.
Absolutely splendid, and what a nice surprise to hear this delightful television theme! Perhaps you'll be inspired to play more great themes, such as The Avengers, Hadleigh, Paul Temple and others. Many thanks.
it's a funny thing - i searched for a nice version of this song today and found it! ... and it has been today you loaded it up - what a luck for me, that i didn't search for it yesterday! ...
Rubbish if you offer criticism of an excellent rendition. Shame, shame.

This is exactly how it must have sounded when the composers Ken Howard and Alan Blaikley sat at the piano and wrote the theme.

Ridiculous tune: there is ONLY ONE Miss Marple theme, Ron Goodman's Clavichord and orchestra theme, and Margaret Rutherford as Jane MArple.
pianomike1 3 years ago
Not Ron Goodman. Ron Goodwin.
Clerence1969 3 years ago
and that piece you are talking about is for sure a harpsichord not a clavichord !!!

If you were of my generation (Commodore C64 user) then there is ONLY this version. ;oP
