The S2000 is awesome. It isn't a "Ricer" car unless it has been altered in a "Ricer" way. Just like any domestic car can be a "turd-box" or a euro car can be "euro trash". Left stock or modded with some class the S2000 is an utterly fantastic car. The track prepped S2000s speak volumes as to the car's performance. @italiankilla58 How does that even make sense when the S2K came first? The RX8 revs up to 9,400rpm, so not that big a difference. It's actually significantly slower than the S2K. They have around the same power, but the RX8 weighs 100kg (220lbs) more, so you do the math. I've had extensive seat time in both, and own an S2000. The RX8 is a nice car though, more practical...and handles well, but it's slower. The newer MX5's definitely copied the S2K's styling cues...but not the performance.
@italiankilla58 Nothing wrong with that, the RX8 is a great car and underrated in my opinion. If I didn't have a 2nd car, and needed the extra seats I might be in one now instead of an S2000. I actually found the RX8 to be more fun than the 350Z, even though it was slower. :) The only thing going against it is that the fuel consumption is not that great, it burned a hole through my wallet for the 3 months that I had it!

I can see the original AP1 1999 model looking somewhat dated by today's standards. However, the AP2 update still looks great in 2012 in my opinion. :)

It is constantly on top car mags "best" lists, and still kept up with the competition until the end of its cycle. If you don't like it, that's fine, but why the hate? @thedenimvault First of all, it's a roadster, which is a low volume vehicle to begin with. You talk like it's a Civic or Camry. Despite that, sales were fairly steady from 2001 - 2006. More rubbish from you. The 2.2L was actually highly touted, it lost the 9000rpm redline, but had more usable torque in low to mid range. The interior is designed to be minimalist, it's well put together and functional, it also has the best leather bucket seats for its class.

I've had a z4 a vx220 turbo and now an s2000, this is the bedtime one overall.not as fast as the vx, but the sound of it at v-tech is awesome especially with a good intake system.and yes people above 6ft can fit in it, Im 6,2 and have no probes
@dunemoon, you really don't get what this car is about if you think if failed from lack of luxury features. this is a driver's car, that crap has no place in my interior nor would i want it there.
the mazdaspeed miata and the s2000 are pretty comparable but its amazing how much crap they had to talk about the miata. i know that the s2000 is 30K $ car ( and worth it) but i cant help but feel that these monkeys were out to talk smack on the miata while praising the s2000

I had a black 04 S2000 and loved it. On days when you feel great there's not many cars more fun than this when it's really wound out. Beautiful engine sound. On longer drives I did wish I had something more sound proof. Even with the top up there's lots of noise.

The S2000 is awesome. It isn't a "Ricer" car unless it has been altered in a "Ricer" way. Just like any domestic car can be a "turd-box" or a euro car can be "euro trash". Left stock or modded with some class the S2000 is an utterly fantastic car. The track prepped S2000s speak volumes as to the car's performance. All the trash talk just shows the insecurities of those slinging garbage out of their mouths. There are many awesome cars from all over the world... damn peeps, just stop hating.

I must say Honda is reliable as far as my experience.
I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX with 208,XXX still running with no problem. Also my 2008 S2000 with 51,XXX still running strong.
By the way, Honda is the world's largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines.

@italiankilla58 How does that even make sense when the S2K came first? The RX8 revs up to 9,400rpm, so not that big a difference. It's actually significantly slower than the S2K. They have around the same power, but the RX8 weighs 100kg (220lbs) more, so you do the math. I've had extensive seat time in both, and own an S2000. The RX8 is a nice car though, more practical...and handles well, but it's slower. The newer MX5's definitely copied the S2K's styling cues...but not the performance.

@italiankilla58 Nothing wrong with that, the RX8 is a great car and underrated in my opinion. If I didn't have a 2nd car, and needed the extra seats I might be in one now instead of an S2000. I actually found the RX8 to be more fun than the 350Z, even though it was slower. :) The only thing going against it is that the fuel consumption is not that great, it burned a hole through my wallet for the 3 months that I had it!

@Acc0rd79 The Honda FN2 Civic Type R and CR-Z aren't bland in my opinion. Looks are subjective, but I think the S2000 has a timeless, if unoffensive and "safe" look. I can see the original AP1 1999 model looking somewhat dated by today's standards. However, the AP2 update still looks great in 2012 in my opinion. :)

@thedenimvault First of all, it's a roadster, which is a low volume vehicle to begin with. You talk like it's a Civic or Camry. Despite that, sales were fairly steady from 2001 - 2006. More rubbish from you. The 2.2L was actually highly touted, it lost the 9000rpm redline, but had more usable torque in low to mid range. The interior is designed to be minimalist, it's well put together and functional, it also has the best leather bucket seats for its class.

I had a black 04 S2000 and loved it. On days when you feel great there's not many cars more fun than this when it's really wound out. Beautiful engine sound. On longer drives I did wish I had something more sound proof. Even with the top up there's lots of noise.
