Cockatoos are great - very intelligent and talkative. Its good you let Coco have a fair bit of freedom because there is nothing worse than one of these awesome Aussie birds being locked up in a small cage, as many do. Our cockatoo used to love a little sip of anything fizzy - he'd love the sensation on his tongue. And in case anyone is interested, these birds can live to be ONE HUNDRED years old plus, so they are essentially a pet for life :)

my parrot acts like he wants to get in the water but when we put him on the edge of the tub he just stares at it and squaks. you're parrot is very beautiful :)

@USarmySister7064 try putting your hand in the water and splashing a little, or put a favorite toy in the water. i did that for my little cockatiel, gillian, cuz she wants to bathe in her waterdish. when i put a big dish of water for her, she just stared at it. i splashed a little in it while i used a fun happy excited voice to encourage her, plus put a couple small ring toys in it. now she gets in without me having to do anything but get the water in there for her. i sprinkle water on her too.

Ours doesn't care too much for baths, but he does like to sit on the shower curtain rod while I take mine. He will tolerate me putting him in the tub like you did yours, but he just tries to climb back out. But he does grab at the water with his feet like yours does, haha.

can you train parrots to make very little noise, I'm not talking about training them not to talk, because I would love to do that, but I have an impression that they usually squark a lot, I just think that would be hell in the morning. By the way I love your bird.

I read somewhere that hairdryers aren't good for birds, so we never tried it. Don't know if it is true or not. Our African Grey likes the vacuum. Everytime I am vacuuming near his cage he comes down to see what I am doing. I think he likes the coolness of its suction. :)

My parrot doesn't like water ;( he'll accept me spraying water on him every now and then as a bath but he'll never get in it himself, guess i should have tried it when he was younger *shrug*

We got Coco when he was 10 years old. I am not sure if he had ever been exposed to the tub or shower. We just happened to try it and he loved it. You ought to give it a try.

@gaybird7 Most cockatoos love showers and baths. Peaches loves the sink and does the same exact thing, including the occasional 'sneezing'.
