  • Many thanks mate!

  • YES-

This is exactly , the PRIMARY effect ,

that the big bucks are spent ,

    on SLR cameras to create.

  • what is foot focus

  • @Greatmanbo When you walk back & forth to get focus.

  • damn fine trick, i'd love to try it if i just had a camera. any chance you'll be doing that cam give away you mentioned a few months back? i'd clip old ladies toe nails to get one!

  • keep running ads cuz you are a broke fat piece of fugly shit.

  • The first one looks better than the blurred background you dumb shit lol. Have you ever done ONE video that did not have a companies name and an affilaite product to puch? I don't think so King Ad. That is all you do cuz you are hurting for free shit so bad and are a fat. old, bald, fugly, broke fuck who lives at home with his parents still.

  • NICE!! i tried it with my sony camera and it works great!!!!!! the amount of focus is just beautiful!!! I can't wait till I go to the beach again

  • I just got a Canon T3i on father's day!

  • Fascinating, KH! As a lifelong photographer with years of analogue film behind me, I know depth of field well, and I've written it off as undoable with these modern automated little cameras. I spent major bank on both my Canon camcorder and my digicam to GET the ability to control shutter, aperture, focus, and ultimately depth of field. I adore my HG-21, but you just screwed me out of a ton of bucks. LOL

(Not really, but those are some damn clean clips on that $100 toy. I'm impressed.)

  • @anmoose Thanks. I was amazed at what could be done with that camera too. I didn't even adjust any other settings (white balance, etc. Just automatic) I thought the only way to get the DOF effect was to buy a DSLR. Then I was playing around & figured out this trick. Saved myself some serious moola! I also see guys buying expensive lens contraptions on ebay to get DOF. Its a total waste of money.

    Maximum respect!

    kh

  • Thanks bro this will help :)

  • yop i know that "trick" fx from my Panasonic in macromode too. The only problem is, that you have to zoom. You cannot use it in "normal" wide-angle videoshots. Like the first shot you show in this vid. and the other one is you cannot adjust this for you filming needs.

  • Thanks Kinghuman, you are great...

  • Sweet clip, King.

  • wow, super easy :)

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've wanted to be able to do the depth of field thing but my Sony webbie HD is a cheap camera with almost no adjustments. No way I could afford a several hundred dollar SLR plus lenses. I tried your trick and it works on video and photo mode!!! This is going to give a real mega-dollar look to my videos and photos now. I thought this was a pretty random video for you but I'm so happy you made it. You are da man KH!

  • ummm...this is low aperture lens effect...

  • HUGS thanks for sharing this with us. HUGS xo

  • King Human for president 2012.

  • The depth of field feature is one reason why I want a DSLR, but the others are the image they put out. I like the look of the 7D, but Clay/Celldweller1982 is leaning towards getting a T2i in a month or so. I like how on DSLR's, not only can you do this trick, but you can shift the focus at will in many ways while still maintaining a very high quality image. This is a good trick to bring the attention to the subject at hand on cheaper cameras though. I like these tips vids.

  • farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt

  • Excellent, thank you for the tip.

  • Santa Cruz?

  • why sooooo many haters! this is a good video!

  • KingHuman forgot to say, just use a tripod and never go handheld.

  • @MrWelschvideo I went handheld on purpose to show this is more flexible than people think. Also it shows better separation when you can move.

    Cheers!

    kh

  • @KingHuman Tripod and skateboard then. :P

  • Thus purchasing these cameras is necessary if you plan on producing high quality, minimum grain pieces if film. Handy cams and personal cams are great and all but thats exactly why they are inexpensive, they are used as personal cameras. People use them to shoot videos of their dog, not drop into after effects for compositing. Cool effect KingHuman but I still recommend DSLR's to people who are looking to stepping to the professional level. Also rail systems are used for things like jib shots.

  • fucking sanyo! i advertised there shit 2 years ago and got almost 100,000 views than i asked the dumb fucks to pay me and i'll do more of my advertising, but any ways i'm glad they chose you king human! you deserve it!

  • @AXHEJAZ They didn't pay me to do this video. This is NOT a product placement video. I just use and like the product.

    Cheers!

    kh

  • @KingHuman Sorry KH i made my comment sound as if your getting paid by Sanyo; didn't mean to do that! I wanted to share my experience with Sanyo Marketing Department that's all. Now off record, if you were getting paid by Sanyo, I would be super happy for you! I think out of any body on youtube you'd deserve it the most regardless! anyways thank you for this video and all the other informative videos you've uploaded onto youtube. Cheers Mate! :)

  • @AXHEJAZ No worries. If Sanyo paid me to make a video like this I would ask them to send me one of their pocket dual cams free & then I would give it away on my channel in a contest. I do have some video cams to give away but they are my old flip cams that I bought & don't use anymore.

    Cheers!

  • Now I do enjoy watching KingHuman videos but let me point a few things out here. DSLR's are not purchased for the "Cinema Depth of Field Effect" they are purchased because of the video quality and grain usually they leave behind in video which is sparse to none consider you can control the amount of ISO, Exposure and Shutter Speed of the DSLR. That's why those cameras have such a high selling point because you need those features to create real cinematic looking videos on a professional level.

  • @elementrinity523 Oh, OK. Well, I see people on ebay buying these DOF add on gizmos that have a motorized lens that focuses on an inner ground glass screen and it has to be placed on a rail. Plus you have to shoot upside down, etc. The whole thing is a pain in the ass & expensive. Just thought I would try to save some of these people from some pain.

    Cheers!

    kh

  • @KingHuman No its an excellent video dont get me wrong. Just people looking to do professional shoots should invest into a DSLR. Those motorized rigs are a waste of many and a complete rip off in the long run as well.
