Help needed..trying to figure out the name of a movie I have seen in the past. Seems like the movie came out about 10 years ago,its a Semi-war movie..I remember a couple soldiers's plane crashed while on a mission,like a spy mission. Well, the enemy saw the plane go down and begin to track it. One soldier keeps contacting his superiers for emergency pick up, but they keep telling him hes not in the pick up zone. @bobblefred45 what's wrong with black and white film? its made that way because of the newsreel-like quality of some of the camerawork, which he watched as a kid at the theater regarding the war in Europe. It gives it a great style that has a documentary feel to it. Its atmosphere. Why do people have such a stigma against black and white films, even those made today? maybe the idea they're old, but this one isn't. Heck, with digital remastering, lots of b&w's of the early years look great!
I'm 17 and a HUGE Holocaust history enthusiast. I find this so interesting and sad and it makes me appreciate the life that I have. I have seen most movies and documentaries on the subject, except for this one surprisingly enough. We are going to start watching it today in my History class and I'm very excited to see the film that I've heard so many good things about.
going to auschwitz last year was one of the most moving, and life-changing experiences of my life. i will never forget it, it has literally changed me. it's something that is so horrific and tragic, it simply doesn't register until you step through the barbed wire and see the atrocities first hand. we all left silent, literally unable to speak. "those who forget the past are forever condemned to repeat it". - that's an important lesson, i think.

My mom made me watch it, and all the time when they were in Auschwitz she said 'it's not snow that's falling'. A truly beauitful and unforggetable movie, really makes you understand how terrible this was. It will never be forgotten.

@trueethnic I live less than an hour away from Dachau and have been there. Now Dachau wasn't a killing camp like Auschwitz, however people who misbehaved were either tortured or shot. I have seen the very beams from which they were hung, strung up by their hands which were tied behind their backs. I have seen the bullet holes in the outer walls of Dachau's buildings, stood at its mass graves and seen reports by Nazi officers describing the gassing of Jews at Auschwitz. Visit a KZ, then talk!

going to auschwitz last year was one of the most moving, and life-changing experiences of my life. i will never forget it, it has literally changed me. it's something that is so horrific and tragic, it simply doesn't register until you step through the barbed wire and see the atrocities first hand. we all left silent, literally unable to speak. "those who forget the past are forever condemned to repeat it". - that's an important lesson, i think.

on January 27th 1945, Auschwitz was reached by the sovjet forces. The remaining KZ-prisoners were rescued. It's the Holocaust Remembrance Day in Germany since 1996 and has been declared an international Remembrance Day by the UN in 2006.

There is a small cinema that will show documentary movie, i saw a foreign tourist there big muscle man, the kind you run away from in a dark alley. Yeah my Genaration isn´t responsible for the massacre but the Genaration of my Grandfathers and that should we never forgött and deny. It´s happened no one can change the past but all what we have to do is don´t forgotten and deny this horrible time.

everything is here, the buildings, the tunnels in the mountains, dug by tousands of forced labourer, the mass graves, the clothing, privat stuff, passports of murdered jewish citicens, Photos and videos of the events. It is there in the museums, archives and memorial places....so if you want proof you can watch with your own eyes but common sense should be enough to understand that those things are not contrivable as a conspiracy. instead try to learn from history

@JTHBS the buildings at Auschwitz were never used as gas chambers. Clothing and "private stuff" doesn't prove that anyone was killed with gas. There are no photos of the gassings.

@trueethnic I live less than an hour away from Dachau and have been there. Now Dachau wasn't a killing camp like Auschwitz, however people who misbehaved were either tortured or shot. I have seen the very beams from which they were hung, strung up by their hands which were tied behind their backs. I have seen the bullet holes in the outer walls of Dachau's buildings, stood at its mass graves and seen reports by Nazi officers describing the gassing of Jews at Auschwitz. Visit a KZ, then talk!

@surfbum482 You'd have to ask the Germans. I think that Germany, like scores of other countries that have kicked out the Jews, got fed up with their ethnocentrism and their disloyalty. They are not an accepting people. They are all about themselves. And when you are a minority in a foreign land and you behave like that, you bring whatever misfortunes upon yourselves. Simple as that.
