  • What a wonderful video you've made, and what a perfect choice.

You have made these scenes sing in their very own silence.

  • Does this film remind anyone else of Malick's "The Tree of Life"?!

  • Excellent! Thanks!

  • Every now and again I have to return to watch and listen to this masterpiece. It's compelling. Visually and musically perfect. Four and a half minutes of sheer bliss.

  • If the music's not part of the original soundtrack, it should've been.

  • If ever there was a Youtube video that embodied Sehnsucht, this would have to be it. "An inconsolable longing for I know not what". It's not sadness, it is wrenching beauty that overwhelms the circuitry of my body and leaves me in tears. I rarely comment on videos... this one is beyond worthy.

  • A film about the unspeakable truth...made in Russia (at that time U.S.S.R.) during the censurship of communism. One of great masterpiece of cinema. The film begins significant with a stuttering boy...

    The music fits perfectly.

  • Simply incredible...

And like a child, discovering myself in the full intensity of simple beauty.

    We exist.

  • chingonamente chingon !!! buen trabajo !!!

  • In my opinion, Part is the Tarkovsky of music. Does anyone else have that sense?

    Great pairing!

  • @enarchay No Bach is a much, much better accompaniment to Tarkovsky.

so many stunning images, tarkovsky a complete genius of a director and a cameraman sent from the gods...

  • @cuoylyf thank you Isis, MARVELOUX!!!

  • Красота

  • i love this song

  • What a great pair this makes. It just sounds like this music was specifically written for this. Simply stunning!

  • If Tarkovsky was born a few thousand years ago, he would have been a prophet; 400 years earlier ago, he would have been a master Baroque painter; and the Tarkovsky we know was a mystic image-maker of the highest order. I wonder if we will have a Second Coming and what will THAT Tarkovsky be manifested as?

  • brilliant composition, and musical narrative...

    bravo

    genius in simplicity

    douglas

  • wonderful, thank you!

  • Beautiful piece of music. Beautiful film!

  • Wonderful!

  • Awhh awesome!! : ) 2:00 Pieter Bruegel- winter hunting :P

    salvatore barile

  • @SalvatoreBarlile é propio cosí!!!:D*****

  • BELLISSIMO!!!!

  • realmente, fantástico, gracias My Lady Barbara!

  • whats the name of the movie?

  • @hollarry Zerkalo

  • Mirror, it's a brilliant film, my favourite Tarkovsky.

  • A prayer, in sound and image, to the Earth, the four elements, and the soul of humankind...

  • My second time commenting on this video and probably my 100th time watching it. This video needs to be circulated to every single follower of Tarkovsky and the notion of the Image.

  • this is an audiovisual pure perfection in melancholy and nostalgy!

    amazing!

  • this movies is fantastic and nostalgia,

The visual beauty of this movie gloatingly.

  • Fantastic

  • Wonderful combination...Part and Tarkovsky are two of my absolute favorite artists...alone, they evoke so much, together (like this) they are divine.

  • Amazing!!!

  • Tak krasivo, chto hochetsya ridat'. Merci!

  • The best music for this great film and clip was so beautifully made. Thank you.

  • What's that film, it looks really beautiful. That scene with the burning farm house looks amazing.

Qualcuno potrà trovare i suoi film noiosi. La realtà è che si tratta di sogni senza un tempo di scorrimento.

  • I heard this for the first time in the car the other day, and was really stunned by how beatiful it is. There's so much depth and emotion with such minimal music. Really breathtaking. It really seems to convey a story somehow, loss and hope maybe. Stunning.

  • you don't happen to live in omaha?

  • No I live in Glasgow, imn scotland lol :)

  • sorry about that but i was in my car about a week ago and i heard this song

  • I really really love this. I was reading in bed one night listening to the classical station and the moment this song came on I just had to put my book down. It was just one of those songs I felt had to be fully appreciated without any distractions. It sounds a bit cheesy but I closed my eyes and it made me feel so many emotions at once. Mainly sad. But it was just so beautiful. To be honest the word Beautiful doesn't seem to do it justice. It's a wonderful work of art.

  • Nothing cheesy about it, if you ask me. I had a similar experience. Whatever your religious inclination, Pärt's music touches the soul and feeds something that's been left hungry in our shallow, commercialized world of thrills and sensual delights...the hunger for beauty, for purity, for truth..."truth" not as doctrine, but as life, as experience, as existence itself.

  • thats just beatiful

  • ...makes me sad.. in balett "othello" you can listen to this song, too. :)

  • That's poetry!

    Thanks for sharing the wonder

  • i love this music. it's one of the most fantastic scores ever

  • Beautiful! Thanks for posting this! I had a peaceful and silent moment .Thanks

  • Arvo Pärt is one of my favourite composers, and now I am shocked with this video of Tarkovsky´s film.

    Thank you, very much

    it´s beautiful

  • This is beyound beautiful!!! AMAZING

Thank you so much for sharing...............

  • THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL

  • gracias

  • Thank you.

  • Lovely, thanks. Nice inversion, with Pärt's music "scored" with film scenes. I'll have to look up this film.

  • These are the sounds and sights of my very inner landscapes - being estonian (as Arvo Pärt is) and growing up with russian films and amidst russian souls it all connects when hearing and seeing this piece of art....

  • indescribable beauty ... thanks

  • 2:20 fabulous!

  • This is so beautiful! When I first saw this film, I felt that I understood it intuitively, but I wasn't quite sure. Then I watched it again, and it was clear, and I had tears streaming down my face by the end of it. This is without a doubt my favorite film.

Thank you for this sublimely beautiful pairing of two great artists! :-)

  • Beautiful!

  • setting me in tears

    thank you

  • woah

  • amazing

  • almost liquified by the beauty of the ensemble, favorited, thank you!

  • Utterly beautiful. I've never seen something like this. Tarkovsky's images are so malleable with music.

  • One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

  • Ineffably beautiful

  • this is wonderful.

  • beautiful and magical combination. favorited. Thank you.
