I hope Komova comes out on top! He Kexin and Nastia Liukin are my other picks but I wouldn't be surprised if Beth Tweddle sneaks in there with the home crowd support. Good video!
@karelziehli Seitz is a great performer at UB, and her transition is fantastic, but she really needs to polish her routine, working at hitting handstands and tied legs, then she will be a serious contender. Oh, she must change that dismount for something like E or F
Kononenko is better than Tsurumi, Nabieva is better than Sixin... and I don't believe He Kexin will be strong enough in 2012 (Nastia too), so I think the podium is going to be something like Komova/Mustafina/Tweddle (not in this order necessarily)
I saw Becky in a documentary of UK gymnastics, and she seems VERY lonely to me, I hope gymnastics really make her happy, idk why I'm bringing this up but it kind of breaks my heart :D Great vid tho
He Kexin is not that good on UB at the moment, haven't you seen her UB at Chinese Nationals this year? she has leg separations, she doesn't get the height she used to on her release skills and she can barely get her dismount around, I have to say if she isn't in shape by the olympics she is done. I think Seitz, Tweddle, Quishuang have a good chance to challange for the top sopt I mean Elisabeth Seitz a full twisting shaposhnikova wow and Beth getting better and Huang great as always :)
Brigette better upgrade. Again has the potential. And Iw ill SLAP anyone who says NAstia could not make a comeback. You might not but she def could. I would think Yang Yilin would be up there a little higher.
if you had aliya mustafina, nastia liukin, alicia sacramone, elizabeth tweddle, tatiana nabieva, and youna dofournet you'd have one scary awesome team.
No offence but I hate when people are like "Nadia Comaneci is the best gymnast ever" no offence she was good for her time but seriosuly she is not even a gymnast anymore people!!
i don't want to sound mean at all, but mustafina bores me to death. her difficulty level is out of this world, her diva act spices up the meets (especially when she is too stubborn to listen to her coach, and consequently looses...) and yet i cannot bring myself to love that kid. i just can't. i find myself switching off whenever she is on an apparatus. komova/grishina/tweddle for the 2012 podium!!!
@allaroundcoach I agree about Komova/Grishina, but I'm hoping to see Aliya and/or Nailiya Mustafina, and Tanya Nabieva too for the russian team. And hopefully Raluca Haidu for Romania. :)
I kind of hope Mustafina wins. She has great form on this exercise, really the only one where she doesn't twist a lot and cross her ankles. She has very unique moves, especially the dismount. But then the second girl you mentioned from Ukraine is pretty nice, but we always have to consider consistency, and Mustafina, Komova, and The chinese are the most consistent. To be honest, the Americans aren't consistent or very good
@mengymnast1597 Actually, the Americans are usually pretty consistent on bars, but don't necessarily have the best form. While the Chinese may be argued to have the best form (aside from their typically laboured kips and transitions), they are hugely inconsistent. Regardless of '08, they lost two potential spots at Worlds '10 because of falls.
@QueenieQue that's true, Rebecca has good form just the way her legs are make it look a little messy. But yeah they really have improved in consistency. If only the chinese would be consistent then they would have a more colorful background.
@mengymnast1597 Colorful as in golden? Haha, yes. If we were talking bars of the mid-90s, I would absolutely side with the Chinese every time (think Bi Wenjing, Mo Huilan, Luo Li!). But for now, I have to say my favorite team on bars is the Russians. They seem to have the most innovation right now; Nabieva, Komova, and Mustafina are a force to be reckoned with!

YONG HWA CHA SUSPENDED GYMNAST? WHY?
bertera1614 5 months ago
@bertera1614 i think that she was suspended because north Korea is suspended from women gymnastics due to age controversy until October 2012

basically UB EF will probably be:
2 top chinese (very hard to say who will be on the team, remember the team will be 5 no longer 6)
2 top russians: Mustafina, Komova
2 top american: Bross, Wieber
that's already 6, plus Beth Tweddle, and one last spot for someone like Seitz or Ana Porgras
lepetitpoulet 6 months ago
Nabieva, with 2 per country rule she won't qualify to EF
Tan Sixin: same as Nabieva
Mustafina: yes!
Liukin: biggest joke
Tweddle! Absolutely!
Komova: bring it gurl!
Huang Qiushuang: big question mark, but she has the potential
He Kexin: she's going down, by next year she won't be the world number 1
I think you forgot Huang Huidan and Wu Liufang, depending on who qualifies, Grishina as well.
Elizabeth Seitz and Wieber both have more chances than most gymnasts you mentionned.
lepetitpoulet 6 months ago
Amelia Racea, love her lines on bars, but start value to low to make EF
Koval: she's over, sadly
Becky Downie, could make EF but she's have to be perfect in prelims
Yang yilin: she's over, tragically for gymnastics
Konenko: probably not enough difficulty, though she has lovely original work
Bross: yes she could make EF
Koko Tsurumi, probably not enough difficulty
Dufournet had lots of problems this year, who knows will she ever get her level back
Yong Hwa Cha, like you said banned :-(
