It looks like I won't have to leave the IBEW after all for $10.00/hr. Our MOU just passed in May at 58 allows for the hiring off the street at $10/hr if we don't fill the CE/CW calls to the Kons satisfaction. Big Kiss.

That IBEWcard is so you can prove you are part of the union, Nurses, Doctors,Teachers all have a union card it is your identification like a drivers licence to write tests, exams, and new certifications.. I'm not sure if you realize this or not, or if you are truly a member of the IBEW. If you were you'd realize you already have a union card. It's that yellow ticket in your wallet. It's called a "dues receipt". Are you paid up? You can have one if you pay your dues. Teachers, Doctor nor Nurses have "special" plastic cards sent out to them with a branding on them.

Now about that anger. Good. Now channel it. Use it to scratch a bit of the surface here and think about what's going on around you - the branding - the scheme to end the JIW classification with CE/CW - and the games the International are playing with the workers they pretend to represent.

simple and effective way to ease unemployment would be to have a work share with all non supervision employees working 7 day cycles overtime after 40 hours in 7 days or more than 5 started -work days hour days in a Monday through Sunday cycle .all employees would work the week then let another group work a week . this would end massive unemployment . the employer will be getting a refreshed work force every monday. everyone wins!

Our union in Washington is sending these plastic wallet cards to the members around the country in an attempt to distract us away from classification changes meant to undermine our wages and leverage with our employers. More dues paying members with meaningless "union" trinkets and much less dignity for Journeymen Inside Wiremen. Google CE/CW with IBEW. Our dues reciepts are our union cards not these wallet thingys. Branding. Insidious marketing tools meant to turn us into tools.

This short is not about the brothers or sisters. It's about an IO card. IO Branding and how it's used against local brothers and sisters. IO Branding and credit like cards ARE NOT dues receipts and should never be taken for union tickets. These are abominations of IO business marketing and NOT to be taken as union paraphernalia, bug or no bug. It is pointless. I think you caught the spirit I was in when I shredded it in front of my laptop and made and posted the video in less than 15 minutes. But you are mistaken that the card "represents something great".

The card represents a pointless branding scheme meant to distract members away from who built the IBEW: the Locals and their membership and their fierce sense of self empowerment within their local jurisdictions. That card represents Washington DC and its dictates of surrender.

The only thing I generated was heat in the shredding process. Besides, they could always decide to tattoo those electing not to hold an I.O. card with bar code to prevent further desecration of their branding.
