non capisco il senso di una macchina cosi sgraziata brutta e dalle dinamiche cosi incerte (dal filmato sembra molto sottosterzante e "gira" piu' come un autobus che come un'auto sportiva ...) BAH!
Im sure the creator was thinking it was a good idea but ahhhh... WHAT CRACK WAS HE SMOKING? that thing is sooooo stupid!!. 1st. what are you trying to achieve? speed?- no too much drag ride quality?- i dont think soo. in a world with veyrons and 458 italia's where does this thing sit? what a waist of doe.
why dont the second set of front wheels turn less like the old f1 cars, with the set up it has, one set would always be slipping, if transferred from one set to the other, that would result in poor handling youd think, maybe that is why it is puttin around the track like a honda civic l0l cool idea, but there seems to be several things holding this car back from success
i think it looks great and probably handles great on soft turns. but judging by the video it has some wicked body roll in the tight turns. id still drive it cause i think it looks kool, could have some great potential for a drag car. : )
Reminds me of the famous Tyrrell P34 Formula 1 race cars introduced in the late 70s. It actually won a couple of races by huge margins, but was then abandoned after 1 season.
i would drive the hell out of that car. People think its ugly because its slightly different, eventually this is all you will find (if in our lifetime) due to the fact that its safe as hell. Flat tires in the front do nothing to the car. I want one!
and i bet that "car" will win the "ugliest car of the year award on top gear". Not only does it look like a koeniggsegg i have borrowed its looks and the way you open all doors and hood. These germans cant do anything right, especially when making new "revolutionary" supercars with six wheels
so basically ur saying by increasing the surface area of the front steering tires via increasing number of wheels, this would increased the handling of the vehicle. i guess, it just seems in appearance anyway very akward lol. i dunno, it would be interesting to drive.
lol the driver drives in the same gear all the time,it sounds..i think this car is ridiculous, these concepts were ages ago in f1 and it seems the design and functionality have more disandvantages than +-es..otherwise many of us would buy a set of 6 wintertyres these days :) respect for building it though..mr.ferruccio should donate the money to poor instead
I've had a comment on my comment. Rather than respond with another one, I'll give you an education. Search utube, "Tyrell P34", and you will see a nice video of the '76 grand prix, 6 wheel Tyrell running around Monaco and another track in the footage. It was quite a car but under steer was bad as you may notice. Look at the size of the rear wheels and remember that at that time there weren't wings for down force and thus the 2 extra wheels made sense to try.
yea im not really sure what the 4 wheels in the front improves... wouldnt there be some sort of drag or on either the inner wheels, or front-end plow with the front 2 wheels to some degree??
i dunno i dont get it, seems like a 4 wheeled car works fine 2 me
Those extra wheels will provide much better grip. Yea, drifting will be null and void because of it. You can't really tell how fast the guy is going from the video, but his turns look nice and tight. If a four wheel drive car provides superior handling, then six wheels will obviously be better than that. Imagine this tech on other types of vehicles. There will be much less accidents due to weather conditions.
driver rides to slow, and cant even drift, probably the car is not ready for drifting, i' be dead if i try drifting with the 4 front wheels been that close with each other
Why does everybody keep talking about drifting? It is not faster. Show me one professional race car that drifts. Sure they get a little oversteer, but that is not drifting.
Lot's of sports cars have backfire, some even have a little puff of fire exhaust out. Sometimes this is a sign of a problem, but other times manufacturers or car modders intentionally add it. It is just fuel that has not burned properly and has leaked into the exhaust pipe. The heat in the exhaust ignites this little bit of fuel causing the backfire. Timing issues are the most common reason for this. In this car's case, I think the makers did it intentionally. Backfire on downshifts sound good.
the vehicle is not at its peaks and the driver is not a pro, i doubt they'd push the only prototype they have, from the looks of the car on track there's no body sway, it keeps grip very good as you cannot hear tires squealing and it accelerates well due to large back tires.
does anyone else hearing it misfiring (backfiring?) after the driver accelerates, then let's off the accelerator? i'm no car expert, but that doesn't sound good.
MOst of you commenters must be very young. Formula 1 had the Tyrell, remember. It was an awesome machine. Anyway, give the builder a break, I don't see any of you wrenching on anything noteworthy, at least he followed his dream and completed it.
If you were driving on a gravel road something could get stuck between the tires and halt them like gears.... causing tons of damage because they are so close together.
Even if it is just debris on the freeway, this would be dangerous to drive.
It would have been much better to put the tire in the middle and the two outer sets to turn, that would make a super sharp turn.
That kinda remind me for Gillette razors evolution. For about 100 years one blade was just enough. Then for 1 decade they somehow managed to fit at the razor 5 blades. OK, it shaves a bit better...and costs a lot more.
Maybe the analogy is not correct, but that was just a momentary thought.
oh shit that car looks cool... i want one of those ... i hope that if they come out they dont make them too expensive =/ .. it sucks that people don't like new ideas but i guess people will always be afraid of new things
I don't think it's so much that people don't like new ideas. Life is built on ideas. So you can't say that. No, it's the fact that people hate ideas that are terrible. The design is not pleasing to the eye and the price, when it comes out, will do nothing to help it.
This car would have looked good if the 4 wheels were placed in the backside not at the front . Or if this car had 8 wheels so they could have placed the same number of wheels on each side . But it would have been too expensive and if one of the wheels will break than it means the others would be useless .
I saw a pickup truck with 10 wheels once. This car is beautiful, from behind when you can't see the extra wheels. I guess no one likes it because it is different, it takes a while to warm up to new ideas.
