Having a child born here does not make them a citizen. That law applied to slaves and their children. If you are not a citizen, then neither is your baby.

Actually under the 14th amendment, babies born in America automatically receives American citizenship. illegal aliens use this to have an "anchor baby" who can then sponsor them when the child turns 21

@craterboy32 Wrong - the 14th amendment applied to the babies of the newly freed slaves, not every Tom Dick and Harry of a foreigner that was born here - it did not apply to foreign diplomats who had children here and it doesn't apply to any other foreigner who delivers their baby here.
