  • 1:16:17 Whoever said that just now sounded a lot like Smithers from 'The Simpsons'. I'm not sure if that was an intended impression.

  • 'The sacred barbecue tongs'.

  • I thought it was so sweet when Crow exclaimed 'Mike, it's you!'

  • Comment removed

  • 06:54 I kind of expect him to say 'Future events such as these will occur to you in the future'.

  • CROW SUCKS with BILL CORBET...he is a unfunny douche! TRACE WAS THE BEST AND ONLY CROW!

  • @harveydents Whoever's playing him, Crow T. Robot always has me in stitches whenever he's riffing on a movie.

  • FUCK YEA MST3K

  • "If found, please return to torso." I'm thinking of getting that tattooed on my head.

  • "Shovel enough of your crap on it and ANYTHING will grow." Awesome!

  • peanuts nostrils happy clams goodnight...

  • For those who don't know, Howard, the beefy guy in the very last segment, is Robert Smith, the Ohio State/Minnesota Vikings running back. I think he and Leonard Maltin are the only celebrity guests to ever appear on mst.

  • @tripoli911 - Oh wow, I didn't recognize him without all his trademark makeup and a guitar slung around his neck. He also looks a lot *happier* than his lyrics would suggest...

  • @analogkid01 No, you see, this is not the "Cure" Robert Smith, but another...oh, you're funnin me.

  • @analogkid01 hes not talking about the singer of lead zeppelin you geek

  • @analogkid01 lol

  • I love the Crow fertility symbol.

  • Graphic depiction of lactose intolerance! :P

  • Uh, well, she did drop the mushroom...

  • You got Mole People in my Batwoman!!. You got Batwoman in my Mole People.!!!

  • Ishtar's gotta love that!!!

  • The credibilty of that scientist is going down, down, down,down...............

  • @anemicroyalteas69 This show ending on television was one of the saddest events in history, There is nothing else that can compare!

  • *sigh* What John.

  • The "Goddess of Ishtar".You know, like the President of Barack Obama

  • This movie might as well be about mole, since it's about mole as much as it is about archaeology, I should show this to my teacher

  • I love Agar's character mansplaining to Adal that she's his equal.

  • 3rd generation

  • "I'm fainting!"

  • Alright, which of the writers hates Adam Sandler so much? There was a slam on him is the previous episode, too.

  • @tlrledbetter -I think every writer as well as every human should hate Adam Sandler equally -but for the purposes of your question, I know Mike REALLY hates him. ( If you read his books you'll see that.) I also heard that Trace actually ran screaming from the theater after attempting to watch Billy Madison. (but Trace wasn't a writer for the show at this point.)

  • @trapadoored He made some funny stuff before, so I don't hate him. That's right, I said it. Still, I'll never look at Mike the same way again and Trace's apparent (over)reaction was just sad. Sorry, but that's just how I feel. I admit that my taste in comedy and comedians is part of the minority... But I still have enough taste to enjoy this show, don't I?

(BTW, I don't even believe in "taste." I'm just speaking everyone else's language.

  • @tlrledbetter

    - I wouldn't worry about your taste in comedy being in the "minority" -if you are a fan of Adam Sandler who is one of the most popular and overpaid comedic performers of the last two decades. The fact that mst3k folk dislike Sandler actually puts them in a decidedly miniscule and sadly non-vocal extreme minority. But I'm sure glad someone else hates him besides me. That being said, I did like the wedding singer. But only because Billy Idol was in it.

  • @trapadoored I hate adam sandler

  • @SpiderxBlue He's a good actor but really unfunny.

  • @trapadoored I don't like Adam Sandler if he's not in anything remotely resembling a serious drama. Otherwise he's a fantastic actor.

  • @tlrledbetter -and how do you not believe in "taste"? That would be like not believing in "farting "or not believing in "baseball." It's just there. Sure, if you like mst3k and Adam Sandler your tatse may be "eclectic"-but it's still a taste. It's not like having "taste" is some hipster thing, like smoking tiny cigarrettes and quoting Kerouac or something.

  • @trapadoored Farts and baseball are physical things and comparing them with the concept of taste is just silly. Taste, at least when it comes to tastes in entertainment, is based on opinion. Everyone's opinion is different when it comes to something trivial like entertainment, so no one can pin down a real "good" taste.

That being said, anyone who actually likes the movies featured in this show are likely not to have any taste. Even I have limits.

  • To jlongtors0:

Servo is saying "Dear Diary, I can smell him nearby as he sits, thank you"

  • Thank you, thank you Analogkid01 for posting this movie! I accidentally taped over my copy of this movie and have been waiting and waiting for it's release.

  • Wow, ESPN's Robert Smith.

  • Is the king wearing a Lady Gaga hat?

  • @goherd3112 The king IS Lady Gaga.

  • Ok, folklorist here who can't take anymore! ISHTAR IS A GODDESS YOU MORONS!!!!! THE GODDESS OF ISHTAR IS ISHTAR!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, got it out of my system, please continue...

  • What's Tom saying at 16:35?

  • John Agar is such a BLANK BLANK BLANK BLANK in this movie!!

  • I cracked up not even a minutes into the actual movie when Crow made the Time Warp reference from Rocky Horror Picture Show.

  • Poor Howard...eesh....

  • I beleive the matte background at 38:05 was also used in This Island Earth.

  • At 40:23 you can actually see a mole persons wristwatch...

  • @Jellicoid wonder if it was a "molex"?

  • @pretorious700 Yeah, although if it was a cheap knockoff Molex it probably kept running down, down, down...

  • @Jellicoid he he..MST3K fans are the best.

  • @Jellicoid LOL you funny.

  • As soon as he mentioned the "great flood' I knew we were in trouble.

  • Pilgrim.... Don't worry Servo, you're still better than Marc Cohn! Get out of my chair, Lieutenant Crown Roast! Slap 'em silly, girls! It's a pride of Dr. Smiths! Thank You,Hannah Arendt.... Disney's Dominatrix World Day 12: the expedition turned whiny.... Is the first stage of grief pure, unbridled joy? Oh, Mr. Drysdale! Are you there God? It's me, Margaret. I'm going to order the John Agar encyclopedia set. And no ever trusted a John Agar film again. The end.

  • Agar had to memorize his lines phonetically!

  • "The top of the mountain."

    "Made it,Ma!"

  • EARTHQUAKE!!!!

    "In Sensurround!!!!"

  • Ah, back when Bobo was merely grumpy and weak-willed.

  • its to bad that the mike and joel eras are 2 far apart for a "rock climbing" reference. ROOOOCK CLIMBING!

  • I'm glad the commercials were left in (partially). Reminds me of my tapes of MST3K with Sci-Fi network movie commercials and "10-10-321" ads with Candace Bergen.

  • ***(Gasp) Cindy Lu Who, Nooo!!! - Tom Servo

  • Every time the movies say "Music Supervision by Joseph Gershenson,"

that means the music was actually done by the late great Henry Mancini.

  • Great stuff this is almost as good as offbeat cinema

  • I love all the "load" jokes.

"Ah, that was a little sprint load. I think I'm loading quite well."

"Load, tell us some stories about other times when you were a major load."

"Attention, shoppers. Unclaimed load in Aisle 5."

  • i liked mikes impression :p

  • I love how the professor they hired to talk about the "totally legit geology" at the beginning of the film is credited as a professor of ENGLISH.

  • I'm 21 and I actually love this movie :). The music is epic as hell and the concept is cool and original.

  • She just dies? What kind of a bullshit ending was that?

  • @teejaynumber13 We can't have interracial couples living happily ever after now can we! THAT would be immoral!

  • One of my fondest memories is waking up every Saturday morning and watching MST3k with my dad as a kid, THANK YOU FOR THE UPLOAD! =)

  • @Nikki172421 WOW, as I read your comment I thought "did I come here and write that before?" Then I looked at your name...lol. Yep, every saturday morning, dad and I would watch MST3K. We started when The Movie came out, then kept up with the series....so sad when the ended :(

  • @anemicroyaltea69 That's actually exactly how my mornings went, too! I used to tape them and spread them amongst my high school friends... it didn't go over too well with them. Sad.

  • @Nikki172421 That's one of mine too! After my parents divorced, whenever we (my younger bother and I) were at my dad's, we would make certain that we would watch MST3k together.

  • When I was a freshman in college Mike Nelson ws a speaker at my school and I got to have lunch with him. Best lunch of my life. Thanks for putting up the videos!

  • this is how the cog discovered the locust

  • This movie is just ropes and asses!

  • "I left my wife and her 49 kids on the verge of starvation with only 1 hamburger left, her left, left right left" xD

  • ..............................................................................................................aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • @hunterd557 The nerd-funniest part about that skit was that some people actually did the math and figured out that it would take Crow about that long to fall one mile given Earthlike gravity. I wonder if the writers actually worked it out beforehand?

  • @TheRogueWolf Man, I laughed so hard that I literally had to pause the film. It definitely set the humor tone for the rest of the show. I love MST3K! It's awesome to see more fans and a repository such as this on YT.

  • "Dante, the great Dante, saw great comb like caverns in the Earth." You mean the Inferno? In which he wrote an entirely mythic depiction of Hell? Universal, I admire the spirit of trying to give weight to your crappy monster story by having a professor talk about its literary underpinnings, but try to at least pretend you did any actual research.

  • @ArmorArmadillo It's like writing a dissertation on minotaurs.

  • Make something up, state it firmly, even arrogantly. :D

  • For shame, for shame. John Agar was in six successful movies with John Wayne, then he was reduced to this.

  • The rope repelling scene is one of the greatest of MST3k:

    Tom dodging Ward's behind...lol

This film is just ropes and asses!

    oooo right in the coconut

  • I would really like to hear Tom's song there.

  • "The flood's been proven to be a historical fact-"

Me: D: "No it...hasn't...." If archaeology was anything like the MST3K movies thought it was, I'd have to rip up my diploma.

  • @EmilyDNelson Actually they got it wrong on TWO account. 1. The flood was real, but no where near that location. The original event had been told by a Surviving Local Sumarian King who had survived a massive flood in the area. The king "Cunningly" "Confiscated" a local merchant ship, and went with the flow until he hit land. Then he made an animal sacrifice and thanked the gods. That was it... Infact, Atlantis is theorized to be just Venice if it were hit by a Tsunami. Nothing Magical.

  • @WhiteTiger225 There's very good evidence for Atlantis....being an entirely hypothetical rhetorical construction

  • @EmilyDNelson Well, movie archaeology loves simple statements. "Oral folk histories about early man reacting to changing water levels and the beginnings of animal husbandry could have been exagerrated in such a way as to support some sort of historical precedent for later legends of major floods." doesn't sound quite as snappy as "Archaeology says Noah was real."

  • @ArmorArmadillo That's so well thought out that I am totally in love with you.

  • @ArmorArmadillo I believe that's also how the History Channel now works

  • @EmilyDNelson that would be a good idea

  • @MastroCicio Haha, ouch ;D

  • @EmilyDNelson On the other hand, it could be easier to get into. My dissertation on

the Mighty Favog could get me a PhD!

  • Get out of my chair, Lieutenant Crown Roast!

  • it's a story botched!

  • Well, Hugh Beaumont certainly could put "rock climbing" on his acting resume.

  • Does anybody else kind of like the static-esque (carryover from the VHS I assume?) borders? They totally give it the perfect flavor.

  • @LaLongeCarbine - haha, thanks for that comment. These are indeed transfers from original VHS tapes I made when the shows originally aired. I hope you also enjoy the odd 90s-era commercials I accidentally left in here and there.

  • @LaLongeCarbine I love it! It's almost nostalgic for me. That and the little beeping pattern when I used to hit play. Boop! beebeebeebeep- booboobeep!

  • How can one obtain one of those "Crow Fertility Statues"?

  • 54:23 Crow: "He died as he lived, a total load..."

  • I love how Mike Nelson sometimes laughs like Butt-Head.

  • "This movie is just ropes and asses!" XD

  • "be right down!!" LOL

  • No, Crow. That's too big. Just a skosh. No, my hips. Smaller. Smaller. Much smaller than that.

(For some reason, that bit with the merengue got to me.)

    PILGRIM!

  • I know "Lost Continent" was six seasons and two cable channels removed from this episode, but I still wish Tom and Crow had exchanged words about "Rock Climbing" at least one time...

  • @PCGamer77 They did have a few episodes in the SF seasons that had a bit of 'Deep Hurting' to them.

  • I hear a lot of "Frampton Comes Alive" references in the series. What do they have against it?

  • @nativepoint14 I don't think they have anything against it. It's just a major pop culture touchstone for the 1970s, and also a convenient reference for them to make regarding things that may or may not be alive.

  • Odd little fact, Robin Huges (the guy who played the head in The thing that Couldn't Die) was the 'First Officer' of the albinos. You know the lead guy with the spike helmet that speaks to them at 58:22 .

  • "Can you sign my drop sheet?"

  • DOWN , DOWN ,DOWN.

  • 55:57 "my nipples weep for you"

  • you want it when??

  • JACK NICHOLSON'S HOUSE!!

  • This movie is just ropes and asses!!

Just think of all he's saving up to say later

    Filmed in wedgie vision

They're gonna hav'ta clean that rope with Lysol

  • 9:36 lol!

    strange, strange

    Mike: crazy mess!

  • "We'll make camp here"

Crow: "and we'll dig our graves over there"

  • "Every time I think of how many civilizations have crumbled, fallen apart, rotted from the inside, or cracked from the outside I shudder when I pick up the front page of the newspaper."

-Wonderful use of speakingness. What I think he _meant_ to say was "Whenever I pick up the newspaper I can't help but think of how many civilization have crumbled, [etc.]."

BTW, check out Simpsons episode 1106 for a scene from "The Mole People" (with Mole Man of course).

  • Comment removed

  • In need of catharsis after this episode? Check out "I Married a Communist" at about 51 minutes to see John Agar get run over by a car.

  • @amcint01 lol, funniest comment I've seen for a while.

  • down, sir?

  • This movie teaches me an important lesson: Creating an interesting setting with an interesting premise is great, but if you elaborate on it by having boring characters flatly expound like they know everything, then your movie will still suck.

  • So... The fried egg thing 10:00 what about moon phases?

  • @kylep2 Or seasons, or tides, or all of the gravitational and orbital calculations. This stuff was all known for centuries. They were apparently looking for a theory to explain their observations when a theory that far more closely matched the observations and known facts had already existed for a LONG time.

  • When Doctor Who says "I point and laugh at archeologists" he's thinking about John Agar.

  • I love this ep...down! down!

  • "She's the Jerry Garcia guitar solo of liturgical dance." As a Deadhead, that cracks me up!

"Their chef is Stanley Owsley." That too!

"Ugh, I surfaced in the catbox!" I'm leaving that one alone.

"And what am I supposed to do with a beefy, virile, muscular, sweaty, servile, well-oiled hunk?" Make him your personal trainer, maybe?

I guess there was no good opening to make a riff about "Mole Law."

  • Comment removed

  • LOL 1:03:00 "and action!" 1:25:50 "Please kill John Agar!" LOL

  • Great uploads, love the full feature posts, and the video quality is the best I've seen, you are the MST3K god!

  • @verbusen well said and true...

  • @verbusen Oops I accidentally thumbed you down

    Anyway you're right!

  • Wow....The first 20min is pure fact, not to mention the rest of the film. great work!

  • So, uh, all that....nothing, just to wipe out the civilization and kill the love interest in the last 2 minutes of the film....

Not even a little bit of pithy philosophy at the end to give her death some meaning, just...yeah....

Also, if you're going to have a cataclysmic earthquake to cap off your film, shouldn't you have some kind of buildup to it?!

  • 49:03 Don't look at my underpants, don't look at my underpants!

The riff Kevin referred to in a tour of the show's set, yes!

  • you are a godsend my friend. many thanks for the awesome upload.
