It's nice to see that Kega Fusion now has AVI recording. I downloaded the latest version and tested it out on both Windows XP and Windows Vista, but I only saw one problem: it doesn't show the video footage on Windows Media Player; only the audio can be heard. What's wrong?
The recording limit is tied to the fact that keyframes are set based on game CPU action. The lack of keyframes can make seeking extremely slow in VDub or even cause it to crash as it must load all the frames from the prior keyframe to the displayed frame. For example in a test case using Phantasy Star 4 I couldn't record anything useable with the final boss because of absolutely no keyframes between the start and end.
it's ok i fixed it i downloaded it again but youtube doesn't want to let me upload the vids after i record them, if i try to convert them it fucks up teh vid if i try Movie Maker it gives me an error
I use the x264 encoder with Virtual Dub to re-encode all of my Kega videos. The only problem is if the video is longer then 10 minutes you'll need to re-encode first then split it due to keyframe placement. (Once it's encoded direct stream copy is extremely expediant.)
Bah, forgot to add: When re-encoding if you want to edit afterwards you need to check the Force Keyframes box and input a number. The number means that at that frame interval a new keyframe will be inserted.

Did you install the codec?

I have the Video Codec folder, and it has KegaGameVideo and KGV1-VFW.dll.

You need to right click and choose install.

How do you convert the file, because I was not able to upload it to youtube.

slight problem: I don't see install. I take it I right click on "KGV1-VFW.dll"?

There should be an inf file in the Video Codec folder alongside that file.

Try looking on the message board over at eidolon's inn. They can provide much better technical support then I can.
