Constructively, you're voice really didn't have any country feel for me (okay, well a little bit) but not enough to earn my loyalty. That doesnt necessarily mean Im suggesting you go to jazz. I think 1) getting better recording equipment and 2) pursuing professional music training would be good because you have potential.
The modern music world is blending the genre's a lot - if you can find some way to blend them, you'd be good. Country fans tend to be VERY loyal once you're in, but it's not easy to be accepted by them. I don't know anything about Jazz fans because...well I dont listen to it. You're country song sounds almost Christian-worship reminiscent. Your lyrics are good but I don't think your voice really suits Country. Certainly it suits the jazz song you sang...or at least, it sounded good.
I love the song you wrote! I don't usually listen to that genre of music but you are just so talented!!! Remember your home town (and old neighbors!) when you get rich and famous!!
