Orcheldor is an amazing one to do for a Magic using Thrall. He is immune to elemental damage, and uses mage armour magic for some staying power. He favours Frost spells, but does use fire and shock as well.

How do you command Dead Thralls? All I see is a "(A) Rylexander's Dremora Kynaz. Is that like a activation prompt or something, because I always press (A) and nothing happens. How do you use Dead Thralls?

go to the shrine of mehrunes dagon, kill the dremora there and use dead thrall on them. along with a follower and you, you shouldnt have any trouble with anything the game throws your way

@nitrocarpairon You can do that, but not with armor. You can however take, enchant then smith, and return a corpses armor. This goes out to anyone wondering who the best dead thrall(s) are, get volkihar vampires (requires necromage perk). They have a lot of health, more than a giant and approximately the same as a mammoth, and they are the only npc's that combine huge close combat power and magical ability. With the right weapons they hit far harder than any dremora, are tougher, and use spells.

A good stone is the ritual, because you can resurrect giants, and they don't turn to ash when the time is up so u can w8 24 hours and use it again

btw nice thrall vids bro, but you should try and get Orchendor aswell for a thrall i mean hes like the best thrall with teleportation 100% magic resists etc. And you can get dremora thralls to Dremora Markynaz.

@DukeNukenum no, people same size and shape as humans, like guards, or master vampires, etc. i think you can also bring back Ulfric and Tullius after you kill them, but i haven't tested it yet. if you want to, make sure you get the spell Dead Thrall before you complete either the imperial or stormcloak questline. right after you kill them, use it to bring them back to life and they will be your servant. (assuming it works on them)

Dremora I dont actually use anymore unless I'm in big trouble... they just rip the shit outta everything and it doesn't even matter if they die cause you can just instantly resummon them... I'd say a good idea would be to put a little bit of a cool down or longer cast time on the spell.

im a necromancer on my save once i kill all of whiterun with dremora (except jarl cant die) i thinkthe thrall zombies are the best cus they dont become ash piles :)

I'm wanting to try and get some "Hero" type Thralls, like mercer from the Theives Guild or something (I'm currently working on it)

Hey, do almost all main cities (Whiterun) have conjuration spells to summon creatures?  Also, where did you buy the dremora spell?

@Voider87 Yeah I'm pretty sure every single city has a mage in the Jarls court. if you want to get all the good spells head to Winterhold and check out the Collage of Magic (when you have a high enough skill level you can buy Dremora spell from there)

You could try reverse pick pocketing some decent armor, jewelry and weapons to the living enemy before you kill and reanimate. Wonder if that will make them use the stuff you gave them. A Zombie with a Epic Daedric sword with 100+ dmg, better than a Dremora.

I'll be posting some more with actually using them, found out a couple of cool lil things like they don't turn to dust when they die and you can also put good weapons on their corpses and they'll actually use them, not armor though :(
