Even though I've seen this doco before I am really shaken up by this. I feel such pity for this reporter, I can really feel his pain. I know he's been Bull-Baited, and he should have been better prepared, he should have walked away, I know because I've done it myself. I have my own theory for why Scientology discredits psychiatry - one of Scientology's main tactics is manipulation, something that a shrink would be able to pick up on right away. LRH probably knew that most psychiatrists would see Scientology's methods for what they are and expose it, so he took preventative action and denounced them before they had a chance to denounce Scientology. That way if a shrink criticizes Scientology, people won't give credence to what they're saying. Very slick move.

I just finished Lawrence Wright's piece in The New Yorker called "The Apostate." It's about the departure of Paul Haggis from CoS. It is a chilling and thorough account of what Scientology is and does. The leader, David Miscavige, is shown to be an unstable, autocrat that runs his cult with an fist. Google and read the article.

Outside of the stalking, the way Davis continually gets in the BBC reporter's face and invades Sweeney's personal space, as well as the gleeful look Davis has once Sweeney blows up, demonstrates Davis got what he wanted. I commend Sweeney for not ripping his little pinhead right off.
I think this would be a lot more powerful a video without the title cards, to be honest. It's a great collection of clips that are very damning to Scientology, but the title cards typically explain what is already evident, are occasionally misspelled, and slow down the narrative.

I think this would be a lot more powerful a video without the title cards, to be honest. It's a great collection of clips that are very damning to Scientology, but the title cards typically explain what is already evident, are occasionally misspelled, and slow down the narrative.
