Really sorry man, that sucks. This video makes me glad I bought the Takara version last year. There are no QC issues and the sword and gun light up fine. Try getting a Masterpiece one, it's worth it.
I was watching this again and I think the reason the gun didn't light up was because the fist was turned upside down. I agree that the light up feature isn't great and not a real selling point, but it's still better than nothing.
Considering it's 1/3 less expensive than the Japanese version, with the only difference being that they got more accessories and we got the crown, I'll take it. Not to interested in the apron and bow tie anyway.

Tell you what, he may have been a "tail dragging" dino in the cartoon, but he looks down right awesome horizontal in "Jurassic Park" attack mode! His poseability is great, one leg bent forward, one bent back, and level his tail with his head, it's bad ass!

You are right to return his defective arse. I would also recommend writing an email to both Hasbro and Toys'r'us .com and getting those losers in quality control fired. They do read the emails and if you are the right combination of pissed off and polite they will tend to take action on your behalf. Also, remember to threaten toys'r'us that you will use Wal-Mart or other competing stores in the toy biz! That'll give 'em a solid kick in the pants!
I had the same thing with ROTF scalpel, the strut of the figure was twisted wile it is suposed to be straight. Still, i can still transform it,so it's not nearly as bad as this.
surely u could return that. i bought a a rotf ransack a bit back that had the already crappy arms made impossible to attach. as the rivot thing that had been punched in on the elbow had gone in wrong and squahed down the part that actually attaches it to the figure.
shame your figure has such bad QC. Mine doesnt have nearly that issue. nor does many other copies of this toy i've seen, seems you just got a dud. You should go back and return him for another one. The light up feature is lame for the gun, but it's pretty nice for the sword

This reminds me of that leader class Brawl figure from the first Transformers movie line I saw in Walmart that was missing its head. It was nowhere in the box and it wasn't anywhere on the shelf or on the floor. I knew nobody was gonna buy it.
