to be honost Rise Against was fun in their early days. First few albums were great but the downfall was already to be heared on Siren Song. I'm sorry but 88 fingers beats the more poppy/emotional stuff of later Rise Against work any time. Compare it to Unraveling or Revolutions/sec and it's about even. At least... that's purely my opinion. Everyone is entitledto have his or her musical taste ofcourse...

@nasdrasil i understand that you have your own opinion, BUT rise against has never been emo or pop. everything thay have ever done was punk, if it was mainstream punk, hardcore punk or melodolic punk, it has always been punk. all of their songs are epic wins.

TBH I do find that there is a change in Rise againsts music. First albums where more raw and agressive then latter ones. I know it's not considered "emo", but you can't deny the fact Tim has changed his appearence over the years to resembe something one could consider to be "emo", how ennourving that might seem :( Ofcourse, I'd like to hear back from you ;-)

@nasdrasilof course hes changed his appereance and music style, why should they bring up they same things over and over again for ten years? in my opinion is that at the beginning they were like "yeah, lets get punk back to poular" and so on, but with their third album (siren song...) they had realised that they wont get anywhere withthrashing their instruments and straing Tims voice. they still do the same sort of music they did before, only alot less of it

@LinkinParkFreak9 Yeah well... it probably has to do with my personal experiences too. I saw them for the first time in 2004 when Tim still had his "Jesus" look. Was a killer concert and they blew me away with black masks and gasoline ofcourse. Last year I saw them again at the Groezrock festival in Belgium, and they really sucked. Sound was bad, they didn't even play black masks and some songs screwed up so it left me wondering what had happened to this great band I saw 6 years ago.
