So why are people outraged at what we have been taught as 'pet animals' being inhumanely treated, yet those same people who do not support sustainable local farming and go for the intensive factory farmed food feel nothing for animals meant for consumption? I cannot stop crying. This is so horrible. I adopted my 14 year old cat from a shelter I was volunteering at 2 years ago because his family gave him up "because they had a new baby who was allergic". I know this isn't true. Its probably because he was old and harder to care for and they didn't want to deal with it. I knew no one would adopt him if I didn't. The shelter workers told me that a lot of people adopt kittens and then surrender them when they're adults.

I just want to say that dumping animals is not uncommon - I know this from first hand experience. I grew up on a little country road and there were always strays walking around that were CLEARLY dumped by their owners. It's a disgrace and it is cruel. Anyone who dumps an animal like that, ought to be punished. Several of our animals that we had growing up, we got because they were dumped and severely malnourished but otherwise healthy and loving creatures.
If people had listened to bob barker back in the day when he said to spay and neuter your pet, this would not be such a huge problem now, shelters aren't depressing, they're a great place to find a furry companion

Eating a diet with even 15% animal protein swtiches on cancer with heightened enzyme activity in the cells. Dairy is just as bad as meat in this respect. If we eat as much raw, vegan, plant food as poss and either reduce drastically or eliminate animal products, we'll be healthy well into our 100s.

If we applied the same standards to humans, we'd have compulsory sterilization and birth control, government-sanctioned euthanasia clinics, and the withdrawal of additional rights and privileges from people who have more children.

Well Luckily most of my cats where home bred through generations. Also my dog was from a liter cared for by friends. Puppy mills are disgusting to me and I hope they get closed down or are forced to take care of their pups

Really sad the way we treat animals. Our prophet Mohammed advised the people to take a good care of pets. Once when the call to prayer was given He went to put on one of his robes, he found a cat sleeping on one of the sleeves, rather than disturbing the cat, he cut off the sleeve and let him sleep. This an exemple, I'M NOT INVITING YOU TO ISLAM PLEASE UNDERSTAND ME, I'm sur that all religions ask for the same thing, morality requires this.

@toolkills Careful, you're confounding separate issues: human's treatment of the planet and their relation with cognitively lesser creatures. Animals may have some crude sort of awareness, but they're not self aware, or aware of their own awareness. The impact of videos like this relies further on anthropomorphism; assuming that the dog is thinking "hey, what are you doing" uzw., which just is not accurate.

I just want to say that dumping animals is not uncommon - I know this from first hand experience. I grew up on a little country road and there were always strays walking around that were CLEARLY dumped by their owners. It's a disgrace and it is cruel. Anyone who dumps an animal like that, ought to be punished. Several of our animals that we had growing up, we got because they were dumped and severely malnourished but otherwise healthy and loving creatures.

theres a part in this movie towards the end with a small test-lab monkey in a cage who grabs a little ball he's been given (for comfort no doubt) and throws himself in the corner with his back towards the cage rocking backwards and forwards, it's the saddest thing i've seen i've seen in my life

Also, read the scientific evidence clearly presented in the China Study. The fact is that a plant-based diet prevents and even reverses cancer, heart disease and all the other western diseases. Eating a diet with even 15% animal protein swtiches on cancer with heightened enzyme activity in the cells. Dairy is just as bad as meat in this respect. If we eat as much raw, vegan, plant food as poss and either reduce drastically or eliminate animal products, we'll be healthy well into our 100s.
