@ waltervb3, no the tensions had been going on for years, like since the 1920's and during the depression when racism was at it's highest the your Mexican Americans teens had since rejected the oppressors and authorities and like wise the majority of Whites didn't care to much for Mexicans so over the years the tensions boiled over the stabbing of Jose Diaz just brought the gang warfare to the media.
@ waltervb3. The most of the Pachucos were gangsters\trouble makers (But not all). The ones that were trouble makers picked on just about anybody including their own race. So it's not to far fetch that they would pick on the soldier's younger brothers.

@cazarez0714, it is believed that the first Zoot Suit was ordered by a black man in Harlem. The suit traveled from East to West and ended up in the West coast around 1940's where Blacks, Mexicans, Italians, Philippines and the Hipsters wore them. The Pachucos were around a long time, way before the Zoot Suit came along as a matter of fact they thought the suit was to pretty boy at first.
