  • .....for s short time Limahl was the biggest thing....

  • the ugly 80's style!

  • @Chaoitcme Ridiculous, rather, and on purpose.

  • Ah Europeans.....

  • I had always thought that a chorus part was sung by a Caucasian singer. But, I found out that she was not after watching this video. It's amazing and thank you so much for uploading this precious music video!

  • man..what a dork.

  • sad how people make covers of crappy music, but not classic ones like this!

  • The lady at the end alway scares me. RANDOM BLONDE CHICK ATTACK

  • There should be a channel with totally 80s music videos, movies, and tv shows i would subscribe to it, love being an 80s baby!!!!!!!!! 31yo here and music sucks now!!!!!

  • @slysly4 I'd be watching that channel all day. We need Doc to lend us his DeLorean for a while.

  • I'm only 16 and even I find this music more meaningful and cherishful than today's music

  • @spotdathief I am glad to here that, thank you sweet sixteen. SatuTV.

  • How the hell is Limahl attracted to her???? Shes pretty from the side. And ugly from the front she has nice lips though

  • @FreadohCool so, shes still great with her solo (the "auuuuuhuuuahhhhhhh" part)

  • @spotdathief I kno this thats why i love the song

  • All my life I thought this was sung by a woman!!!! I just realized it cos I found this video!!!! hahaah

  • he looks nothing and sounds nothing like a chick stupid. The songs beuatiful and always will be.

  • damn i always tough that it was a woman singing >_>

  • @hitibiru your not the only one, i spent my whole life with this as one of my favorite songs and i just learned that it was a guy singing the song...

  • Is that Bono playing synth?

  • Atreyu is so freakin hot!!! thumbs up if you agrre!

  • i cant believe thats a GIRL!

  • <3 his hair! :)

  • why are they singing the sewer?

  • @MrJamieMathieson It would make some sense if they where. People on the bottom of society dreaming of nothing but following those dreams and leaving the sewers... Makes some sense if nothing else.

  • All my life I thought that this song was sang by Erasure. It is very gay. But I love it. It reminds me of the times when I was a kid and watched this movie.

  • seven persons end their story

  • Modern music and the videos associated with it are just as cheesy as this. Look at Katy Perry, Lada Gaga or any other pop groups video and say that they are not cheesy. You can not.

  • Aha! I always thought there was a girl singing that other part! But I never saw any credit listed at the end of the film. Nice to know I was right.

  • Yea, I reckon! This is cool and so are many others from the 80's. Bring them all back!! I say...

  • love this song.....n the year..omg........tx u for the post:0

  • Assisti este filme várias vezes na sessão da tarde na rede globo.minha infância foi realmente maravilhosa.

  • Perhaps it's just nostalgia from a childhood that has passed, but I cannot even watch the opening credits to "The Neverending Story" without tearing up now. The mixture of pretty clouds, memories of my mother taking me to see the movie and this song are too much.

  • @williew705 Just keep watching it. it's ok you know. crikey, i cry lots of times when i watch certain video clips with certain songs. and i guess i always will. better to have loved and lost then not to have loved at all. cos then, it would mean that you had noone to love. this just shows that you have feelings and you have loved cos you had someone special to love...and that's a wonderful thing.

  • I love that song

  • DE VUELTA A 1984 EL AÑO EN QUE NACÍ JAJAJA

  • Classic movie, classic song, everything about this represents taste; something today's generation is seriously lacking. 80's movies, 80's cartoons and 80's music were beyond epic, the creators actually took time and effort to make them and have them mean something.

  • @loveliesdiva ditto !!!

  • that guy can sure sing high. what is he an alto?

  • lol the 80's must've been soo gay

  • @CantLetTheAngelsDown

Lol, thank god you uselesess piece of shit wasen't born then. stupid subhuman trailerpark Motherfucker....

  • @HipHop1981 Haha yea thanks, man!! You have a nice life as well! <3

  • @CantLetTheAngelsDown How the hell do you know? Really, have you looked around at your world today?!

  • @80esfreakenrock Well yea, several times!

  • I grew up loving the movie as a kid and the song. I always will.

  • Its Joe Dirt!

  • CHARLIE SHEEN PLAYING PIANO!

  • hello merci

  • 20 years sure goes by fast

  • I'm 28 and i still enjoy this song, it makes me shed a tear with happiness! : D

  • :-) big smiles

  • I didn't know this video version...GREAT!

    :D

  • whos better ? Beaver or Limahl ?

  • ... It's a guy? D=

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang LOLRF. yeah man i just found earlier this year too.

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang LOLRF yeah all these years i thought it was a girl too

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang thats was my first thought too!!!!

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang it's a limahl.. strange creature

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang WTF? LOL I never knew that either!

  • oh thank god that other one wasn't real...I was terrified.

  • That backup dancer is doing a terrible job of lip-syching.

  • I have a limahl wig at home which I put on when I'm feeling weak.

  • the 80's swere just the best......

  • yikes.

  • I 've watched this movie last 1989. i am already 27 years old. makes me want to turn the 80's back and make boy band now eat the shit on their pants.

  • love it...remember my grade school days :)

  • i love how the song itself is never-ending it fades in and then fades out

  • the Eighties certainly had less suck then some of today's music

  • loved the movie too

  • yes they were simple times....sigh!

  • I miss those days things was alot more simple then!

  • I still think Morla the giant turtle looks like Mel Gibson.

  • @dieselheart001 that was a good one.

  • the other video from 1984 is better than the 1989 one (this one)

  • Bicha loca e e u pensava que era uma mulher que cantava a música

  • @LenaDelovely Really? The woman who sang the sung wasn't available for shooting or something?

  • this song shuld be never ending!

  • This has to be the worst music viseo of all time.

I didnt know Pat Sharpe could sing?

  • Muhehehe you have not older than this vid :) no i joke Gg nice vid :)

  • I grew up on The Neverending Story, Limahl is a great singer.

  • so glad the eighties are OVER!

  • 80's music = win

    80's hairstyles = fail

  • @bokuwatensai Yea...JRRDPR... that was a pretty moronic observation considering that you were trying to insult a music form the 80's. So... ya... fail.

  • fruitiest song ever

  • TANGERINE DREAM IS AT THE BACKGROUND!!!

  • denna låt e helt okej

  • Hey, check out this big loser Napolean34, I can't report, because he hides his account. Babies like him don't deserve to be on YouTube.

  • It is beautiful song. i love it.

  • in the movie i thought the voice was a girl

  • Damn, Brown sugar looks like a Chimp 0:20

  • @tullebukk24 lol

  • The Neverending story was my favorite as a kid. I still love it. There is still worth in the meaning and value of following your imagination and dreams. How does your imagination and making dreams into reality ever go out of style? This is a timeless tale...

  • This is amazing song !!!!

  • i love the music!

i think Enya must've got an inspiration from that!

  • wow, I can't believe this is a guy! I always thought that it was only sung by a woman! Love the song though, such great memories :0)

  • Is this an alternate video? Because there is a video of the song where Limahl sits in front of a mirror.

  • the guy is kinda cute.... i would also like to destroy some of todays music for stuff like this,

  • im sorry but this guys is hot, and he still is for his age...yum yum yummmmmmy

  • I grew up watching that movie. This is awesome.

  • i miss this song. thanx

  • Greatest song EVER!!! I've been growing on this song ^^ and it still can say U something.. U only need to search inside Yourself what..

  • Greatest song EVER!!! I've been growing on this song ^^ and it still can say U something.. U only need to search inside Yourself what..

  • I like this song, In fact I love it. But that black woman's hair-do was crazy, even for the 80's.

  • fantasy comes to my mind, everytime I hear this song...80's artist

  • everytime i hear this music much more watch the video, i feel like crying.i feel happiness and innocent.

i miss my childhood days .... believing something they called FANTASY. =)

1980's artist for me are always the best. LOve them all!

  • I Love this song!! (but for some reason I always thought a girl sang the entire song...80's music...I should have known better :) lol

  • I Love this song!! (but for some reason I always thought a girl sang the entire song...80's music...I should have known better :) lol

  • true but I think we could do without the hairstyles.

  • Every generation will always have something the next generation will look back upon and scoff. What do you think people will look back upon today's trends and laugh at?

    Take your time.

  • @Skycrusher Ohh I agree with you. I'm sure my children will see photos of me or movies I love and laugh at the sillyness, or fakeness, or whatever. What they will laugh at, well only time will tell. I kow I laugh at the hairstyles of past generations, maybe mykids wil think my hair is silly one day.

  • i just peed myself in excitement

  • I love this song ... neverending story was part of my childhood ... and I have wonderful memories ... it's one of my favorite songs today

  • Cheesy? This was the 80's moronhead.:-))Don't compare today's music to it,every era had it's sparke.I loooved the music back than and today I could flush some of them down the toilet and their videos too.

  • @JRRDPR CORRECT

  • @JRRDPR We can flush your opinion down the toilet along with your junk!. Keep your negativity to yourself. This is a classic. The classics do not fade away...

  • @JRRDPR @bokuwatensai Yeah, JRRDPR is right... Was was pretty moronic to try to make fun of a video from the 80's because it is from the 80's... so... yeah... you... you fail.

  • @JRRDPR If 80's music means cheesy, then I say bring on the cheese. :) Best music ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mimmar3891 Bring on the cheese Baby!!!!!

  • @mimmar3891 i agree the 80's had some of the best music that there was

  • @JRRDPR I grew up in the 80's. I waited on line for 3 hours to get Duran Duran's autograph. I still have my depeche mode limited edition singles. Never Ending Story was exceptionally cheesy. I now live with people who constantly play ABC, Berlin, OMD, and this crap, as if The Police, The Smiths, and Talking Heads never happened. The 80's wasn't 100% sugar frosted crap, and the crap never really stopped flowing. Just look at Ke$ha, Justin Beiber, and Katy Perry. It's not an era, it's a tradition.

  • @jordinyc I was crazy about Duran Duran.:-)Din't like Depeche Mode at all but I realized I only disliked DM fans. They were so stupid.:-) At first i had no idea who Justin Bieber was only checked him out cos I heard he is the top artist on youtube.:-)))Katy Perry doesn't bother me that much,I'm pretty immune when i wanna be but the 80's seems irreplaceable. So don't worry. You're not alone.:-)

  • @JRRDPR fuck yeah lol You can't find artist nowadays hold such wonderful song and harmony

  • well, consider yourself lucky.. In sweden a fucking toiletpaper company started an ad with a crappy cover of this song. How come some idiots cant leave other peoples songs alone. As a tribute a cover is ok if its free. To make money on someone elses lyrics is just sad.

  • ..... alll'infinito ... dall'infinito !!

  • INDIMENTICABILE.

  • It took me a while to find it, but I finally saw the woman behind that hauting voice. Excellent.

  • Hi, in case you already don't know, the backup singer is not this black woman...It is Beth Anderson, a white woman singer/composer from U.S (sorry don't mean to sound racial). I just found this out.

  • and here is Beth Anderson

    watch?v=EJSjyiwJ1qI&feature=related

  • Hey...Thanks for the link!!

  • Who's this ugly cousin of Grace Jones singin' here?

  • Hmm, I expected the music video to show footage from the film. Like the video was promoting the movie.

  • I love this song as much as I did when it first came out, I love Limahl, too, he still looks good!

  • isnt Limahl his jumbled name?

  • His real name is Christopher Hamill.

  • love tha song

  • I've only just discovered in wiki that there were female vocals on this track. When I was a kid I thought it was actually sung by a woman until later someone pointed out to me that it was sung by Limahl. So I thought Limahl just had a very feminine voice.

  • This one never gets old!

  • is anyone else seeing a resemblence to Harry Connick Jr here? :)

  • I'm born in 1998, and I always wanted to live in the 80's.When I watch the movie for a first time in 2001,I loved it.

P.S:I have something just like his hair, but I'm not a blonde.

  • He he, I think you mean 1988, 'cause your profile says that you are 18 years old. ;-)

But yes, you're right. I grew up in the 70's/80's and I'll never forget that times.

    I really miss the 80's.

  • No,I'm born in 1998-th,but in my profile is 18 because YouTube didn't give to me to be under 18,so I made 18.Anyway,I really like the 80's,even if I didn't live then.

  • the80's fashion are coming back, ...some electro stuff is a copy of the 80's, check out self control - Laura Branigan also 99 Luftballons -Nena,and some Duran Videos ;)

  • My favourite movie!

  • I enjoy this song, love the movie and agree, this guy is gorgeous.

  • I tell you what man, I am not gay, but damn this guy is beautiful!!!! and he has a great voice. I wouldn't mind looking like him

  • awesome!!

  • awesome!

  • Wow, I always thought it was a black female singing the lead vocal in this song... Sounds kind of like Dionne Warwick. I had no idea!

  • wow, beauty ;-)

    mrrrrrau.. ;D

  • grr... he is sexy and so cute :D

  • this is the real video I've been searching for, finally I found it, thanks, I love this song

  • @LloydNorin Me too! It's the one they always showed on VH1 and MTV. One of the greatest sounding songs of the 80's.

  • Great song. Giorgio Moroder produced this and it's an example of his great work.

  • Beautiful song!!!!!

  • ...oh! The woman playing the role of Limahl's songstress sweetheart in this Neverending Story video is actress Mandy Newton of the UK. However, the actual person who sang backup is Beth Anderson of the US, whom Limahl never met while recording his part of the song, but later sang together with her in the US a couple of times.

Mandy Newton became a regular backup performer for Limahl. In those days, lip syncing was status quo, but that is Lamahl's voice on the tracks.

  • What channel and program was this taped off of?

  • thank you for posting this video.

Limahl has many different video-versions with this song, I think this one is very good :)
